Ettore Martin Les Quartettes String Quartet: Corpo Acustico
Siamo su altre coordinate, in cui la scrittura, almeno per gli archi, ha un ruolo prevalente, ma ha anche il pregio di una certa carica espressiva, che vien fuori nei momenti di contatto con il sassofono, lui almeno libero di cercare una via comunicativa estemporanea su sfondi dall'eleganza malinconica ("Milonga triste") o comunque sempre in perfetta sintonia con l'idea di un lavoro "crossover" fra classica e jazz.
Niente di banale, semmai di formale, nelle composizioni firmate per lo piú dal bravo sassofonista, sempre in primo piano, senza alcun bisogno di temere la concorrenza di un'altra voce melodica. C'è anche "Foxy Lady" di Hendrix, lasciata solo al quartetto d'archi. Nell'insieme abbiamo il piacere di scopre un disco allo stesso tempo rilassante e di spessore per l'impegno di Martin in assoli su terreni abbastanza insidiosi, come le dune del litorale adriatico fotografate nel booklet (per le quali il WWF lancia un appello a non distruggerle definitivamente).
