Kerry Politzer Quartet: Blue In Blue
Perché è un album che scorre via senza sussulti, senza particolari emozioni, semplicemente un pianotrio, elegante e raffinato, troppo elegante e raffinato, meglio dire patinato. Vi si possono cogliere l'amato Brasile, la lezione armonica di Bill Evans, lo swing del primo quintetto di Miles Davis ma ad uno stato superficiale, dove tutto sembra scivolare via come acqua piovana sul marmo.
La presenza di Donny McCaslin in quattro dei dieci brani faceva ben sperare visto il valore del sassofonista evidenziato in altri contesti, ma anch'esso sembra anestetizzato dal clima generale dell'incisione e si limita a svolgere un compitino pulito pulito e nulla più. Insomma Blue in Blue è album che difficilmente lascerà qualche traccia dietro di sé se non presso gli amanti di certo pop-jazz.
