Camila Ronza

Camila Ronza. Born on February 10, 1995, in São Paulo, Brazil. From an early age, she had contact with music because of her very musical family, who always inspired and encouraged her. As a child, she joined OSESP Children's Choir and performed as a solo singer, so she soon decided to be a singer and make music her profession. Camila completed her bachelor's degree in Popular Music Vocal Performance at Faculdade de Música Souza Lima, in the city of São Paulo, in 2016. In the following year, she was granted a scholarship from the Latin Grammy Cultural Foundation to continue her studies in France, at the Center des Musiques Didier Lockwood (CMDL), where she graduated from the professional course “Le Jazz et les Musiques Improvisées”, returning to Brazil in July 2019. During her undergraduate course, she became a member of the Youth Choir of the State of São Paulo, and of Nômade, a vocal and body percussion group

Hogo Fogo

The sound of Hogo Fogo’s musical universe derives from the four corners of the world. This Danish instrumental band is often boundary-pushing in their improvisations, other times insisting in their grooves and melodic ostinatios and sometimes very mellow and sensitive. 
With inspirations from Nordic Folk, American Jazz and African Funk Hogo Fogo is a breath of fresh air on the Danish music scene. The band describes their own music as a kind of World/Urban/Soul/Folk intstrumental groove music. 
The four Danish musicians Michael Dalgas (Dr), Lars Emil Riis (Keys), Spencer Gross (Gui) and Søren Lund (Bas) have played together for more than 14 years as backingband for a wide range of artists

Born in 1976 Jonatan Piña Duluc is a composer and multi-instrumentalist from the Dominican Republic. He has won the country`s most important composition competition the Premio Nacional de Música on six occasions on three different categories: Symphonic/Choral, Chamber music and Latin Dance music. Apart from these he has interests in Jazz, Rock, Latin Troubadour, Dominican folklore and everything eclectic. Influences go from Frank Zappa to Giorgy Ligueti, John Zorn, Luis Dias, Luis Alberto Spinetta, Living Colour, John Coltrane, Slayer, Juan Luis Guerra and many artists that you wouldn`t find in the same shelf of a record store

A music creator re-thinking the concept of Puerto Rican music, Pedro crosses over invisible frontiers with an (extra)ordinary approach to music. He aims at fusing the earthy quality of folk music with forward looking compositions and live performances, reflecting the mixed identities of his heritage and influences. Born and raised in Puerto Rico, Pedro José Pastrana grew up in the jíbaro music tradition and surrounded by the vocabulary of other popular sounds. Thanos Stavridis

Thanos Stavridis was born in Langadas, Thessaloniki. He took his first steps in learning accordion at the age of six. He studied music theory and holds degrees in Harmony, Counterpoint and Fugue. He also attended saxophone courses and reached the diploma level. He graduated from School of Music Studies of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki with a degree in Ethnomusicology. His Graduate Thesis is entitled “Accordion and its technique as used by music troupes of Eastern Rumelia refugees in Greece”.

In his early undergraduate years he began playing accordion professionally at many music stages and haunts of Thessaloniki, performing rebetiko and various other genres of Greek music

Gijs Levelt

Gijs Levelt is a trumpet player, composer and teacher. In his work he explores the boundaries of world music, improvised music, contemporary composed music and pop music. As a trumpet player, he is best known for his work with the Amsterdam Klezmer Band, with whom he has toured the world since 1997, released 15 albums and entered into various international collaborative projects. He was also founder and co-band leader of several crossover bands and ensembles, including STriCat, the Axyz Ensemble and Spinifex. As a sideman and guest musician he has played with a large number of artists in different genres, from the Willem Breuker Kollektief to Chef's Special, in clubs, theaters and festivals all over the world. Together with composer / flutist Ned McGowan, Gijs led the Karnatic Lab, a concert series, a series of festivals, a record label and a number of ensembles for years

Jussi Reijonen

Born in Rovaniemi, a small town on the Arctic Circle in Finnish Lapland, fretted/fretless guitarist and oud player Jussi Reijonen is truly a product of the liminal spaces between cultures.

Having grown up in Finland, Jordan, Tanzania, Oman and Lebanon, and spending much of his adulthood in the United States, Jussi has lived a life soaking up sounds, sights, scents and shades of Nordic, Arabic, African and North American aesthetics and expression, all of which are reflected in his creative work as composer and performer.

Jussi’s debut album un | ان [unmusic 2013] was released to great critical acclaim, with Guitar Player magazine referring to it as “extraordinary music” and Lucid Culture calling it a “still, spacious, slowly unwinding masterpiece”. The album was nominated for an Independent Music Award in 2014.

Stephanie Chou

Born:

Stephanie Chou is a composer, saxophonist, and singer based in New York City. Her music combines classical and Chinese influences with jazz and pop harmonies and rhythms. She blends Eastern elements (Chinese folk songs, erhu) with Western jazz and pop to create an entirely original, unique, and arresting bi-lingual (English and Mandarin) musical world. Stephanie’s music is all about connecting with the audience, and sharing her experience as a Chinese-American growing up in NY through her music.

Raised in Irvington, NY, Chou studied mathematics and music at Columbia University. In 2011, she released her first album, Prime Knot, a jazz quintet CD featuring trumpeter Marcus Printup (Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra). Her 2012 ballet work C for G was commissioned and choreographed by former American Ballet Theatre principal ballerina and ballet mistress Susan Jaffe, and premiered at Goucher College.

Jesse Fischer

Jesse Fischer is a Brooklyn-based pianist, composer, and producer. Known for his warm, soulful touch and emphasis on melody, groove, storytelling and emotion, his unique voice combines elements of his own Jewish heritage with music of the African diaspora, jazz, hip- hop, and singer-songwriter genres. A recent awardee of the South Arts Jazz Road grant, as well as a three-time ASCAP Plus Award winner, Fischer has performed with many notables in the jazz, pop, and world music scenes, including Becca Stevens, Sarah Elizabeth Charles, Mino Cinélu, Grace Kelly, Lakecia Benjamin, and Deva Mahal. He has released several records as a leader, most recently Resilience (self-released, 2020), which PostGenre called “One of the best jazz albums of the summer of 2020”, and the Herbie Hancock/Head Hunters remix project Vein Melter (Tru Thoughts, 2015), created jointly with producer/multi-instrumentalist Sly5thAve. He is also a core member of the groundbreaking Brooklyn Afro-pop/jazz fusion collective Ajoyo and producer & engineer of their sophomore release, War Chant.
