Reginald Cyntje Music

REGINALD CYNTJE (born in Roseau, Dominica and raised on St. Thomas, USVI) is a trombonist, educator, producer, and composer. He has created and performed an eclectic range of music. When you listen to Cyntje perform, you hear a passion for life and love in his sound. Growing up in the US Virgin Islands (USVI), he was steeped in the rich cultural music known as Quelbe (the official music of the USVI). Quelbe was Reginald’s introduction to improvised music. With cultural heritage at the forefront and social justice as the message, he has “a deep-seated knowledge of Caribbean music and culture which has settled into his jazz trombone playing” (NPR Music). To date, Cyntje has recorded six albums as a leader

Dan Lehner

Born: April 21, 1989

Dan Lehner is a freelance trombonist, composer and educator in the Washington Heights neighborhood of Manhattan. Born in Hamilton, New Jersey, Lehner briefly attended University of the Arts in Philadelphia before finishing his undergraduate degree in Jazz Studies at William Paterson University, studying under New York trombonists John Mosca and Tim Newman, as well as studying composition with Elliot Carter scholar John Link. At WPUNJ, he created and led custom-made small ensembles focusing on modern jazz repertory, as well as performed with musicians like Scott Robinson and former Yankee turned guitarist Bernie Williams with the William Paterson Jazz Orchestra

Joe Escobar has become known for his excellent trombone work, smooth voice and swinging renditions of the old Sinatra style classics. While many male vocalists in this genre try to impersonate the likes of Frank Sinatra and Bobby Darin, Joe just sings the tunes his own way with just the right touch of those classic singers.

Jackson Hardaker is a New York City based trombonist, originally from Christchurch, New Zealand. He moved to NYC in 2009 to pursue and immerse himself on the world of jazz and improvised music, and has been increasingly making his mark on the NYC jazz scene ever since. His music draws from a range of styles and influences, from within multiple genres of music, as well as garnering inspiration from art, science, and literature. Now an accomplished performer and musical improviser, he has completed a Bachelor of Music in Jazz Performance, from Canterbury University, and a Master of Arts in Jazz Performance from The Aaron Copland School of Music at Queens College in New York

Mario Vavti, born 1973 in Klagenfurt, Austria. At the moment living in Vienna, Austria. Working as freelance trombonist, composer and arranger. The major motivation for me to start a professional career as a musician was the strong need to express myself through music. Immediately after my apprenticeship as a toolmaker and technical drawer, at the age of 21, I matriculated at the local conservatory to start my studies on the trombone. John Mosca

Trombonist John Mosca is a graduate of Juilliard, and has been on the faculty at the Manhattan School of Music, The New England Conservatory, and The University of Connecticut, among others. Modest by nature, he is one of the most respected instrumentalists in the world, a brilliant soloist, and one of the best jazz trombonists ever to grace the scene. John has appeared in numerous ensembles and on many records. For more than thirty years, he has played with the Grammy-nominated Vanguard Jazz Orchestra, formerly the Thad Jones-Mel Lewis Orchestra, and currently serves as its director. He has also appeared in the Carnegie Hall Jazz Band

Stan Vincent

Put together his first jazz band as a junior high school student in Newton, Mass., and took lessons from the principal John Coffee, trombonist with the Boston Symphony. At Brown University, played with the Brunotes, a Condon-style band. Was a member of Jean and Doc Kittrell’s Chicago Stompers, Tex Wyndham’s Red Lion Jazz Band (Penn.), and in Boston the Jazz Doctors and Exit Jazz Band featuring banjoist Gil Roberts. Founding and current member of the Grammy-nominated New Black Eagle Jazz Band, known worldwide as the leading exponents of traditional jazz and said by John Wilson to be "the best New Orleans revivalist band in the U,S."

Born & raised — classically — in St John’s, Newfoundland, Tom Walsh lived & worked in Toronto for more than ten years before rebooting in Montréal. He’s performed &/or recorded improvisational or popular music with/for such artists as: Steven Barry, Iva Bittova, Jane Bunnett, Pierre Cartier, Michel F Côté, Paul Cram, Michel Cusson, Jean Derome, Lisle Ellis, Fred Frith, Vinny Golia, Bill Grove, Gerry Hemingway, Julius Hemphill, Jim Hillman, DD Jackson, Oliver Jones, Guy Kluscevek, Michel Lemieux, Robert Marcel Lepage, Evan Lurie, René Lussier, Al MacDowell, Joe McPhee, Phil Minton, David Mott, Bern Nix, Mary Margaret O’Hara, poet Michael Ondaatje, Zappa’s Don Preston, Bobby Wiseman, the Cowboy Junkies, the Barenaked Ladies, and Bran Van 3000 in Canada, the United States or throughout Europe.
