Silvia Bolognesi

Born in Siena, Silvia Bolognesi graduates in double-bass at the “R. Franci Institute” with Andrea Granai while attending Alberto Bocini’s double-bass classes at the “G.Verdi Institute” in Prato. Her approach to jazz starts by following lessons at the “Siena Jazz Foundation” with F. Spinetti and by attending summer courses (1998-1999) organized by the same Institute, studying with Furio di Castri, Ettore Fioravanti (ensemble music) and Giancarlo Gazzani (big band). As well she attends the course “High level qualification for Jazz Performers”, founded by the European Union (with Furio di Castri, Mario Raia, Stefano Zenni and Francesco Martinelli) and the “Trio course” directed by Stefano Battaglia, Paolino dalla Porta and Fabrizio Sferra. Furthermore, she participates in the “Musical Research Lab”, directed by Stefano Battaglia.
