Daniel "Pipi" Piazzolla started ESCALANDRUM (Jazz - Argentina) in 1999. The group's name is a portmanteau of "Escalandrún" (a species of shark which "Pipi" fishes with his father Daniel - hobby started by his grandfather Astor Piazzolla), and "drum". With a career span of over 22 years, the band has released 14 albums of original compositions, "Bar los amigos" (2000), "Estados Alterados" (2002), "Sexteto en movimiento" (2004), "Misterioso" (2006 ), "Visiones" (2008), "Piazzolla plays Piazzolla" (2011), "Vertigo" (2O 13) and "Las Cuatro Estaciones Portenas (Proyecto Eléctrico)" (2014), SESIONES ION - Obras de Mozart e Ginastera (2017), 3001PROVECTO PIAZZOLLA (2017), STUDIO2 (Warner Music 2018), "El Reino del Revés" (Warner Music 2020), "Como la Cigarra" (Warner Music 2020), "100" (Warner Music 2021), with performances in more than 40 countries around the world
