- Nominated for the 17th Annual Latin Grammy® Awards in the categories of “Best New Artist” and “Best Jazz CD.” - “Full of creative energy and the joy of musical discovery”—Mark Sullivan, All About Jazz The Dominican Jazz Project began when Dominican born jazz artist, Guillo Carias, invited American jazz pianist, Stephen Anderson, to perform with him and local players for the 2014 Jazzomania Jazz Festival in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, that was hosted by the Quisqueya 96.1 FM jazz radio program. The concert and associated clinic went beautifully, and the drummer, Guy Frómeta, invited Anderson to return to Santo Domingo to perform with him in his group for the Casa de Teatro Jazz Festival a few months later

Dave Bass

Pianist, composer and lyricist, Dave Bass, is a great American success story that reads like a riveting bio-pic script. This Cincinnati kid began piano lessons at age seven, and shortly after graduating high school, played in bands that opened for Captain Beefheart and Alice Cooper. He was soon accepted into Boston’s Berklee College of Music, leaving after just a few months to study piano with the legendary Madame Margaret Chaloff. Madame schooled him and other young, immensely talented jazz artists as Keith Jarrett, Leonard Bernstein, Steve Kuhn and Kenny Werner, who understood the importance of developing a signature sound and style. Chaloff taught in the “Russian Technique” – a unique tool for tone production and musical articulation. A typical lesson might not go beyond using a “weightless wrist” to correctly play a single note. While in Boston, he also studied composition with George Russell and Avram David, again formed his own band, worked a variety of commercial gigs, serendipitously landing a great stint as Brenda Lee’s pianist, leaving Boston behind for multiple tours of Japan, Singapore and Malaysia.

Sam Allen

Born: October 24, 1956

Sam Allen is a musician currently living in New York City. Originally from upstate New York he attended The Berklee College of Music in Boston. Graduating with a diploma in Music Performance Sam moved to NYC. He performs on the drum set mostly in the Tri-state area and is fluid in playing many different styles of music. Playing and writing music is a way of life for Sam. Drumming is his first love but playing piano/keyboards for composing and more recently the bass for fun takes up much of his time. Sam's approach to music is having a solid foundation in the history of the music but not getting lost in the past

Matias Carazzo

Born: October 2, 1979

FLUTIST, CLARINETIST AND SAXOPHONIST For more than 10 years he has played professionally in projects of a wide variety within popular music, including Folklore, Tango, Candombe, (MPB) Brazilian Popular Music, Jazz, Funk, Flamenco and more. He trained on the flute at the "Astor Piazzolla" Superior Conservatory of Music of the City of Buenos Aires with Fabio Mazzitelli. He perfected himself in the study of the flute with Paulina Fain, clarinet, saxophones and improvisation with Martín Pantyrer, improvisation and sax with Rodrigo Domínguez, saxos, flute and MPB with Vinícius Dorín, Eduardo Neves, Antonio Rocha, Nivaldo Ornelas and Letieres Leite

Tristan Banks has built a reputation as a knowledgeable, versatile and authentic world-class drummer and percussionist throughout his 30-year career as a recording artist and session musician. Nina has been passionate about singing her whole life, performing in genres from musical theatre and pop to jazz and blues. During her many years practising law and raising a family, Nina was the featured singer with the Advocats Big Band and the Tokyo Giants, R & B band, as well as the swing band, Atomic Cocktail, and many other smaller formations. She has performed at high-profile events such as the Beaches International Jazz Festival, Eat to the Beat for Willow, the Angel Ball for Providence Centre, AidsBeat, as well as at weddings, parties and book launches. German-American pianist, composer and educator, Uli Geissendoerfer, originally from Munich, is a versatile and remarkable musician exploring rhythms and melodies across many styles of music, with a special emphasis on World, Jazz and improvisation. He worked with among others Tito, Puente, William Cepeda (awarded a Grammy nomination), Groove Collective, Giovanni Hidalgo, Blood Sweat & Tears, Leslie Uggams, Cirque du Soleil, Kofo the Wonderman, Ute Lemper, David Cassidy, several Symphonies, the Connecticut Opera and more. Irini Konstantinidi

Born: July 22, 1977

With her lyrical, expressive, and impressively clear sound, vocalist Irini Konstantinidi has achieved a very personal and refined interpretation of jazz and has been established as one of the most prominent Greek jazz singers. She is dedicated to exploring the voice as an improvising instrument and as the means of instant creativity in jazz music. Her playful and creative approach to vocal improvisation and jazz phrasing makes her music performance unique. Scat singing is like an extension of her storytelling and imagination. Reviews about Irini have highlighted her vocal brilliance, impressive tonal range, and flexibility
