Since relocating in 2009, Jackson has been joining the ranks of a Kansas City music scene that is bursting with talent, performing with many of Kansas City’s premier jazz ensembles including The Project H (2014 Pitch Award Winner - Best Jazz Ensemble), Chris Hazelton’s Boogaloo 7, The Kansas City Jazz Orchestra, Vine Street Rumble, and Clint Ashlock’s New Jazz Order. At home on all of the saxophones as well as flute and clarinet, Jackson is able to adapt to any musical situation

Mr. Carroll recently completed an 8-year appointment as Chief Executive Officer of the American Jazz Museum in Kansas City, Missouri where he successfully led fund development efforts generating more than $18M through municipal contract negotiations, corporate and foundation sponsorships, contributions and earned revenues. Under his leadership, the Museum has become a viable destination attraction for the City of Kansas City and has garnered numerous awards and recognitions of distinction including its Blue Room Jazz Club being named as one of the world’s top 100 jazz venues by Downbeat Magazine and its Jazz and Blues Festival being selected as Kansas City’s Visitor’s Choice for Best Music Festival by the Convention and Visitors Association.

Brad Gregory

Brad Gregory was born and raised in Edmonton Canada. He was taught by G Gordon Nicholson and was heavily influenced by many of the great Edmonton musicians such as PJ Perry, Harry Pinchin and Tommy Banks. Brad attended the University of North Texas where he was a member of the One O’Clock Lab Band. Brad is also an alumnus of the Houston Jazz Orchestra. After working in New York City as a professional jazz musician for several years Brad began a full-time career in the plastics industry and relocated his family to Kansas City. He performs regularly with his own groups, The Brad Gregory Sextet as well as Kansas City Reeds and Rhythm as well as The Marcus Hampton Sextet, Tim Doherty’s Nine Plus One, the Boulevard Big Band

Pianist Joe Cartwright makes his home in Mission, Kansas and is recognized as a proponent of ‘Kansas City Jazz.’ He is a graduate of the UMKC Conservatory of Music and is currently the musical director for the critically acclaimed NPR radio show '12th Street Jump.' Joe has performed on and produced numerous recordings. Some of his credits include work with jazz luminaries Eddie Harris, Christian McBride, Jeff Hamilton, John Clayton, Karrin Allyson, Jimmy Witherspoon, Kevin Mahogany and Mel Torme. Cartwright has performed for audiences in Africa, the Middle East, India, and Southeast Asia as part of the USIA/Kennedy Center Jazz Ambassador Touring Program

Originally from the Kansas City, Missouri area, Jeff started studying music at 7 years old and found guitar at 12 years old. His specialties are composing jazz and playing jazz guitar. A graduate of University of North Texas with a jazz performance degree, he has since been growing in the Kansas City thriving jazz scene. From traditional to modern, he is always trying to create and innovate, while honoring the tradition.
