Your Feedback plus Musician Page Improvements
Bandcamp Listening Party Survey Question
We're back with our one-question survey, and this one is for jazz musicians who use Bandcamp. We want to know if you have ever used their Listening Party service. Please answer Yes or No, here. We'll consider adding Bandcamp Listening Party functionality to Jazz Near You based on your feedback, so please let us know. Thanks!Speaking of Artist Surveys...
The Doris Duke Foundation has teamed with Meridian Research & Insights to conduct a research study to understand how performing artists view the opportunities and challenges presented by technology in the arts. In support of this effort, they are inviting all jazz artists to participate in a brief online survey. Please take a few minutes to share your opinions by completing it here. You can learn more about their study here.Musician Page Service Improvements
Thanks to pianist Jon Balke's suggestion, we added Tidal and Qobuz linking opportunities as part of our premium musician page service. If you're a premium musician page customer, be sure to add these links. Also, if you are a premium musician page customer and use Bandsintown, add your Bandsintown page link and Jazz Near You will import your new Bandsintown events nightly. If you're considering upgrading your free standard musician page service to premium, complete the standard sections (which includes uploading photos) before you purchase the service. You can learn more about that here. Upgrading your page when you release a new album is always a good move.
All About Jazz lost a friend in music publicist Scott Thompson. I met Scott several years ago, and we chatted regularly ever since. He was an AAJ advocate, always quick with encouragement and support. Whenever I did him a solid, I could always count on Scott with an email reply, "Thank you, my man," or "You da man, always!" :-) Scott used our news announcement service countless times, and he loved sharing photos of himself with jazz artists and celebritiesI got a kick out of them, too, especially the more vintage shots. His brother Chris, a fine trumpet player, recapped Scott's professional life here. My Man Scott will be missed.
