Jazz Dogs... and cats!
Our weekly newsletters keep you connected to the latest in jazzand to the work we're doing to strengthen the platform behind it. We also occasionally share stories from our community. Today, I want to share one of mine. This past week, I said goodbye to my good buddy SammyAAJ's unofficial "Head of Security." We adopted Sam at 8 weeks, and for 14 years he stayed by my side as I worked from home on the All About Jazz you see today. He brought boundless joy, energy, and an endless enthusiasm for tennis balls. Sam was a gentle soul, as handsome as they come, and he lived the best possible life in our wooded, creekside home. They say life is better with a dog; with Sammy, it truly was.
As I've been sorting through his photos and videosand putting together a playlist in his honorit sparked an idea...
Dedicated to You: Our Dogs, Past and Present
I thought it would be meaningful and fun to celebrate our furry friends with a community photo gallery: Jazz Dogs. To share your photos, follow these instructions. How to upload photos to the All About Jazz gallery
- Sign in, then go here
- Click the Select Images to Upload button (choose a photo from your hard drive)
- After selecting your image, click Upload Now
- Click Tag Your Images and add a title, tags, and a short description
- Be sure to tag your dog's name and add the jazz dogs tag
I've added some of Sammy to get us started. Once we've gathered enough "jazz dogs," I'll share the full gallery in a future newsletter. And if we get enough requests for jazz cats, we'll create a gallery for them too. :-)
From the December 11th newsletter...
Dogs and Cats Rule!
Last week, I sadly said goodbye to my guy Sammy but his passing sparked an idea to celebrate all of our jazz dogs, so we invited members to upload photos of their poochespast and present. We're seeing some fine-looking pups, but some were uploaded without titles or tags.
Please title and tag your pet photos, and be sure to include the "jazz dogs" tag so we can showcase all the dogs together in a single slideshow and on a dedicated group page. To tag and title your photos, just sign in and head hereit's quick and easy.
And, as expected, we also heard from our cat-loving members. :-) So we're extending the invitation: feel free to upload photos of your jazz cats as well. Just remember to title and tag your photos, and include the "jazz cats" tag.
