Matthew Steckler

Born: July 4, 1974

Matthew Steckler, aka Matty Stecks, performs and composes in several musical settings internationally. Since Fall 2017, he is on the faculty in Jazz & Contemporary Popular Music at the renowned Brandon University School of Music in Canada. Primarily a saxophonist/woodwind specialist, he also performs on vocals, keyboards, percussion and electronic media, bringing a dynamic, holistic approach to the live musical experience. His Musical Tramps project on Ropeadope Records features Canada’s Keith Price, Eric Platz, Matt Kozicki and special guests, and is a research-based exploration in jazz, popular, film and electroacoustic music idioms. Dimitri Gollety

Born: December 13

Dimitri is from a family of 5 children whose parents play piano in their moments of relaxation (mother on classical pieces and father’s on jazz tunes).

He will hear daily throughout his childhood regular bossa nova and jazz vinyl records of his relatives (especially Antonio Carlos Jobim and Errol Garner).

So from 6 years old, he sat at the piano and with his sole ears learnt to re-play melodies and song themes by memory.

At 15, at decision time for the rest of his education and career, music was deeply rooted in him.

But another very inner desire to found a happy family with children led him to favor a career in engineering, safer to support its future wife and children.

Mike Casey

Born: June 10, 1993

Saxophonist, songwriter, and teaching artist Mike Casey has been a fixture on the Hartford jazz scene and beyond since 2011, when he began attending the acclaimed Jackie McLean Institute of Jazz at the University of Harford’s Hartt School. In 2015, Mike was one of 24 young jazz composers worldwide chosen by Jason Moran to participate in the prestigious “Betty Carter Jazz Ahead” Program at the Kennedy Center in Washington, DC where he studied with an all-star faculty including Eric Harland, JD Allen, Eric Revis, Cyrus Chestnut, and Jason Moran.

After a sold out NYC debut at the Minton’s in Harlem in September 2016, Mike went on to accomplish an incredible feat: the crowdfunding campaign for his debut album "The Sound of Surprise: Live at The Side Door" (due for a February 2017 release) reached 111% funded in under 30 days. His resume includes appearances with Charles Tolliver, DJ Logic, Brandee Younger, Zaccai Curtis, Tarus Mateen and Marc Cary, whose project “The Harlem Sessions” features Mike as an original member.

(2021), Fly on the Wall (2020), Not From Brooklyn (2020), One Small Step (2019), Come Out and Play (2018), “Just the One of Us” (2017), and “May Your Holidays Be Filled with Love” (2011).  Dennis also runs a guitar school called Guitar Lessons Ithaca.
