Julian Siegel

Julian Siegel is an in-demand saxophonist on the UK and European Jazz scene who has worked with many of the top figures in the music. He was awarded the 2007 BBC Jazz Award for Best Instrumentalist. He is currently touring with the Julian Siegel Quartet featuring pianist Liam Noble, bassist Oli Hayhurst and drummer Gene Calderazzo. The Quartet's first CD ‘Urban Theme Park’ was awarded the 2011 London Jazz Award and in February 2018 the Quartet released their new album 'VISTA' on Whirlwind Recordings. Since the release of ‘VISTA’, the band has performed internationally at Jazz Festivals including Inntöne Jazz Festival in Austria, Made in The UK at the Rochester International Jazz Festival, NY, Jazz Standard NYC, JazzFestival Göttingen, Germany, Limerick Jazz Festival Ireland, UK’s Love Supreme Festival, Bristol and Manchester International Jazz Festivals and an extensive 2018 – 2019 Arts Council England UK Tour. The Quartet was featured on the cover of UK’s Jazzwise Magazine in February 2018 and VISTA was included in Jazzwise’s Top 20 Jazz Albums of the year.

Phillip Haynes

Born: June 15, 1961

A veteran artist based in New York for 25 years, Phil Haynes is featured on more than 85 LP, CD, and DVD releases by numerous American and European record labels. Haynes’ debut, The Paul Smoker Trio’s QB with Anthony Braxton, was named the #1 recording of 1985 by esteemed critic Kevin Whitehead. The international media have compared his drumming to masters Jack DeJohnette, Roy Haynes and Elvin Jones, and his compositions to Duke Ellington, Charles Ives, Charles Mingus and the Art Ensemble of Chicago. His performances were recently noted to be “The perfect middle between tradition and avant-garde, between power and sophistication, between accessibility and adventure. . . standards with a new sense of drama, dynamics, and true moments of fun.”

Machado Mijiga

Born: March 13, 1994

Multi-instrumentalist and Portland native Machado Mijiga wears many hats, both literally and metaphorically. Classically-trained, jazz-weathered, and eclectically inclined, Mijiga left the proverbial creative "box" at a very early age, with access to many instruments and a diverse musical background brought about by an intercultural heritage. Mijiga is a musical polymath; composer, producer, bandleader, educator, gear fanatic, and audio engineer, to name a few. Authenticity and uniquity assume the locus of Mijiga's artistic identity. Self-expression is the prime directive, and the medium of choice changes like the weather.

Elisabeth Lohninger

Born: February 20, 1970

"A myriad of colors and facettes" - that is what comes to mind if one tries to describe Elisabeth Lohninger's vocal art. She has impressed audience and critics alike with her groove-emphasizing originals and her boundless joy in singing and making music. All About Jazz (USA) writes that, "Elisabeth Lohninger manages to swing and make you think at the same time, and that is no easy feat." Creativity and versatility have been Elisabeth Lohninger's companions down the road since her early musical beginnings in native Austria. Having performed in New York City's downtown music venues such as The Jazz Standard, Sweet Rhythm, SOBs, the Knitting Factory, and the 55 Bar, Elisabeth Lohninger has also toured Europe extensively

Sarah L King

Sarah L King started singing in soul & gospel choirs before emerging as a solo artist. Growing up under the influence of her father Mike King, jazz trumpeter and bandleader, King has developed a fine ear for harmonies and improvisation. After a richly creative career in filmmaking and screenwriting, King has turned fully to music, catapuling onto the UK jazz scene with her assured, pure-toned vocals and sophisticated songwriting. Her richly metaphoric lyrics are a direct result of her storytelling past - and her ability to communicate emotional depth through her vocals have brought her much recent acclaim.

Summer Camargo

Born: August 18, 2001

Summer Camargo is a 23-year-old jazz trumpeter and composer who was recently named "25 for the future" rising stars of jazz by DownBeat magazine. Summer is a native of Hollywood, Florida and a Jerome Greene Fellowship recipient at The Juilliard School, where she received her bachelor’s and master’s degrees. Summer is a regular performer at notable NYC jazz clubs like Dizzy’s and Birdland, as well as a member of the Mingus Big Band. In 2022 Summer became the newest and youngest member of the Saturday Night Live house band and is also enjoying her most recent role as a band member in Broadway’s new musical, Just in Time.

Jihye Lee

Jihye Lee is a jazz composer and bandleader based in New York, highly regarded for her personal and adventurous storytelling approach to large-ensemble jazz. “Her music is imaginative and creative” says Jim McNeely, one of Lee’s great mentors. “And she’s not afraid to take some exciting chances in her writing.” Lee describes composition as a form of record-keeping for herself, as the documentation of her life, the process of finding musical equivalents to the images, thoughts and emotions in her mind. Roberto Spadoni

I feel lucky. I fell in love with music and she took me by hand and guides me on the paths of life, the difficult one and the easy ones. Lights and shadows, joys and sorrows: there is no day that music does not resonate within me. Thanks to her I have been able to work with many musicians and many orchestras in precious collaborations and to play in many festivals, I have been able to carry out ambitious projects and I could perform teaching in conservatories and private institutions seeing many young people grow day by day. Thanks to her, I recorded CDs, wrote books and translated others in Italian. Quoting Duke Ellington, I can say that "Music is my Mistress". Between 2007 and 2012 I graduated in I and II level in Jazz at the Conservatorio di Musica di Benevento, where I am now a professor in Jazz Composition. Paulo Perfeito

Born: July 12, 1974

Paulo Perfeito , trombonist , composer and educator was born in Porto, Portugal in 1974 . His musical studies began in a local marching band, and proceeded in the Conservatorio de Musica in Porto and later in the Escola de Jazz do Porto. After attending the Jamey Aebersold Summer Jazz Workshop in 1996 , Paulo was encouraged to continue his studies in Jazz at the Berklee College of Music where in 2001 he obtained the degree of Bachelor of Music . In 2007 Paulo obtained the degree of Master of Music at the New England Conservatory and he is currently pursuing a Doctor of Musical Arts at the prestigious Eastman School of Music.
