Nesin is born 1976 in Berlin, Germany of Armenian descent. He started playing violine at the age of six. Later he switched to the double bass. Nesin played in various small groups, big bands and orchestras in the U.S. and Europe. Nesin studied with Dave Clark, Bruce Gertz, Dave Santoro, Dieter Ilg, Paul DelNero...and earned his diploma at Berklee in 2003. Juan C. Acosta, born and raised in Puerto Rico, moved to NYC on March 2007 to continue graduate studies in Jazz Performance and Composition in the New York University. Juan has a bachelor degree in music from the Interamerican University of Puerto Rico. A known bassist that has played with various local groups and artist in Puerto Rico like Zakandela, Angel Matos, Michael Stuart, Carlis Muños, Charlie Sepulveda and Ricardo Pons ,among others. Also he participate in New York with others group and artists like Mike Freeman, Pregones Theater, Los Mas Valientes, La Tribu, Desmar Guevara, Antony Carrillo, Irka Mateo.

Marco de Tilla

In about 25 years of career, Marco has played alongside most of the jazz musicians of Campania and beyond, gaining experience in every artistic field, from jazz festivals to theaters, from recording studios to television studios.

For several years he was professor of Jazz Double Bass at the Conservatories of Naples and Potenza, collaborating for a long time with the National Institute for Musical Development in the South (Ismez).

Graduated with honors in Jazz Music and Jazz Composition, he studied and followed masterclasses with some of the most important double bass players in the world, including Larry Grenadier, Dave Holland, Scott Colley, Furio Di Castri, Rino Zurzolo, Ermanno Calzolari, Aldo Vigorito, Piero Leveratto.

Jiri Slavik

Jiri Slavik was born in Havirov, Czech Republic, into a teacher’s family with a strong musical tradition. As a child he played the violin, which he exchanged for the double bass around age 13. A year later he moved to Rome, Italy, where he attended St Stephen’s School and eventually also the Santa Cecilia Conservatoire (Massimo Giorgi’s double bass class). In the summer of 2004 he graduated from both of these institutions, always with the highest attainable marks (the seven-year long double bass course at the conservatoire took him three years to finish).

After having been offered a full scholarship from the Royal Academy of Music, Jiri moved to London, UK, to pursue his studies, first in classical double bass with Duncan McTier, later on in jazz composition with Barak Schmool. After three years he finished the four years long programme with “First Class Honours”.

Demian Cabaud

Demian Cabaud was born in Buenos Aires , Argentina, in 1977 into a non-musical family . He discovered music by himself at age 11 and started going deep into it, later fell in love with the sound of the Double bass and started studying with Hernan Merlo, Miguel Angel Villarroel and for the last 12 years with Alejandro Erlich Oliva.

In 2001 moved to Boston, Massachusetts, after receiving a scholarship from Berklee College of Music, where he graduated in may 2003.

In Boston had contact and learned from great masters and stared performing with many talented musicians and a tour brought him to Portugal , in 2004 he moved to Lisbon and after 7 years moved to Porto , where he lives with his family.

Alan Lewine

Alan Lewine is a bassist and composer currently living in the Phoenix AZ region since 2020. He lived and played in and around Boulder and Denver Colorado in the late 70s, New Mexico through the 80s, Portland OR in the early 90s, DC for about 10 years starting in 1994 and then Philly for 14 years from 2006.

Alan founded Owlsong Productions in 1982, and released the first Owlsong album, Alan Lewine Septet: Original Jazz, in 1986. Alan has performed and recorded all over the U.S., Europe and Latin America.

Primarily a jazz musician, his influences and experiences include all forms of music – he has studied and played for example medieval Sephardic and Indonesian Gamelan, delta blues and afropop, flamenco and various fusions of the above, as well as all styles of jazz from trad to avant garde, and some classical.

Rich Lamb

Rich Lamb has been playing fretless, 4 string, 5 string electric basses and theupright bass professionally for 50 years. He co-founded the turn of the 80'sjazz fusion band "Dry Jack" and gained worldwide recognition with hisbrother, pianist Chuck Lamb, which was listed as part of the new wave offusion in Rolling Stone Magazine's History of Rock `n' Roll. With Dry Jack(completed by guitarist Rod Fleeman and drummer Jon Margolis) heperformed with legendary vocalist Eddie Jefferson and avant garde saxbeatnik Richie Cole and opened shows for Pat Metheny, The Dixie Dreggs,Gino Vinelli, Freddie Hubbard and McCoy Tyner among many others. Andbefore moving from New York, Rich played with trumpeter Dave Douglas inthe mid eighties.

Alexander Claffy

Born:

19 year old Claffy hails from the greater Philadelphia area, starting first with Electric and then Upright Bass. His father being a bandleader, and his mother a singer, he was exposed to music early on. Claffy continues to study under the legendary Mike Boone, and bassists Gregg August, Peter Paulsen, and soon with bassist Dwayne Burno. Now attending the New School For Jazz and Contemporary Music, he has played around the NYC/Philly area with the likes of Pianists Orrin Evans and George Burton, drummers Justin Faulkner, Wayne Smith Jr., and horn players such as Duane Eubanks and Ben Flocks.
