Thea Crudi: Star Eyes
La Crudi cerca una interessante varietà di interpretazione e si guarda bene dall'usare la stessa formazione per tutto il disco: lascia spazio qua e là alla tromba o al pianoforte per accompagnarla (ad esempio nella delicata interpretazione di "It Never Entered My Mind"). Pronuncia corretta ed una voce eterea sono il suo punto di forza, quasi avesse interiorizzato le cantanti bianche della swing era. Brava anche nei brani più sostenuti ritmicamente, come "Falling in Love with Love," in cui dà occasione alla ritmica per mettersi in mostra.
Il disco è chiuso da un brano cantato nel lontano 1968 da Caterina Caselli, che diventa una ballad dalle atmosfere jazzistiche.
Forse la giovane cantante appare un pò trattenuta nel feeling che trasmette a causa della giovane età, ma è certo che il disco si fa ascoltare con piacere e rappresenta una bella colonna sonora per le sere autunnali.
