L'idea di T Lavitz funziona - del resto, con musicisti così è quasi scontato. Il dialogo si svolge in modo spontaneo, frutto della reciproca frequentazione da tanti anni. Le composizioni sono tutte di buon livello e gli assoli ben coordinati, senza vuoti sonori riempiti da un virtuosismo fine a sé stesso. Riappare Jerry Goodman della Mahavishnu Orchestra a dare il suo contributo in tre brani, ancora in forma smagliante, insieme agli altri musicisti, provenienti dall'entourage di Chick Corea.
Da parte di Lavitz c'è la volontà di rimettere in discussione il genere, una volta tanto staccando la spina, ed il risultato complessivo è sicuramente da lodare, grazie alla coerenza stilistica dal primo all'ultimo minuto che ben risalta pur se su strumenti acustici. La batteria martellante di Dave Weckl, la chitarra di Frank Gambale, il lavoro del leader al pianoforte, sono marchi di fabbrica; ma anche la ricerca della melodia, della musicalità sono parte di un disco che emana energia in abbondanza.
La potenza sonora attira il pubblico degli appassionati del genere, sempre disponibili a prestare attenzione a chi ormai è colonna portante di una musica che, buttata fuori dagli studi di incisione delle major, ha trovato negli anni una sua precisa identità.
