M.O.B. Trio: Quite Live In Brooklyn
Questa volta è il turno del M.O.B. trio (dalle iniziali dei suoi tre componenti), la cui musica sintetizza con efficacia e con un linguaggio che si potrebbe definire contemporaneo e metropolitano, una miriade di influenze musicali, peraltro vissute in diretta dai singoli elementi del trio. I tre musicisti vantano infatti, tutti, collaborazioni a trecentosessanta gradi. Da Dewey Redman all’Herbie Nichols Project, da Steve Swallow a Ray Anderson, da Tony Malaby a Lee Konitz.
Il risultato è una musica decisamente energica e swingante (anche se non nel senso convenzionale del termine). Una musica complessa nella sua articolazione, ma sempre diretta ed intrigante nel suo svilupparsi intorno al cardine del contrabbasso (la lezione di Dave Holland?).
