Musique Brute: Poste Restante

Musique Brute è un quintetto eterogeneo nel quale il sax di Co Streiff, storica rappresentante del free elvetico, incontra la tromba di Marco von Orelli, giovane ma già apprezzato esponente di quella scena, il mini moog e le onde Martenot di Natalia Sidler, il basso elettrico di Jan Schlegel e la batteria puntillistico/rumorista di Sheldon Suter. Il riferimento ad Art Brut, movimento artistico nato da un'intuizione del pittore francese Jean Dubuffet, è evidente più nel titolo che nella sostanza.

Perché se è vero che l'impatto generale di Poste Restante rimanda ad una musica scarna, essenziale, creata attorno a sonorità originate da impulsi elementari, sono altrettanto evidenti la preparazione, la padronanza tecnica e la maestria dei protagonisti nel manipolare ad hoc il materiale sonoro. Che prende forma dall'ispirazione dei musicisti, sollecitata dalla frizione tra acustico e forme primitive di generatori elettronici e si sviluppa secondo percorsi imprevedibili, frequentemente a macchia di leopardo, scintille che si accendono all'improvviso e scardinano gli usuali canoni espressivi della libera improvvisazione.
