New albums from Taubenhouse, Carney, Lewis, and Booth and more!

All recent releases this time around with the third volume in the Moments In Trio series from Yaniv Taubenhouse leading the way. There is also free improvisation mixed with modal jazz from Zane Carney, as well as the stunning new album from James Brandon Lewis. Original music and a unique ensemble sound that pushes at the boundaries of what is generally accepted as New Orleans music comes from Matt Booth and Palindromes. Nate Wooley introduces a compositional system that asks musicians to question what they add to the ensemble as human beings first and musicians second. Also featured is the third full length album by “Sound Prints” Quintet, co-led by Joe Lovano and Dave Douglas, which includes ten new compositions by them and features Lawrence Fields, Linda May Han Oh and Joey Baron. Finally Gabor Lesko is an inventive and talented guitarist, keyboardist and composer from Italy with a fantastic new one, and, the 25th Anniversary reissue of the first recording by Morris Goldberg's group Ojoyo brings the sound of South Africa to the mix.
