Rochelle makes her home in Seattle, Washington, where she has been raising four wild and creative young artists. After twenty years of focusing on raising children, she has returned to her devotion of jazz. Rochelle studied music theory, studio singing and jazz harmony at the College of the Redwoods and Golden West College in California. Recently she received her bachelor's degree from Antioch University, Seattle. She is proud to be introducing her music to the world on her debut recording entitled “Dreams of Love.” The title of the cd comes from an art piece by Rosemary, her ten-year-old daughter; the logo design of “Rochouserecords” was created by her son, Raven, who is thirteen.
“Dreams of Love” represents a collaborative effort with pianist and professor Marc Seales. Their first intention was to make a good record. Rochelle listens to instrumental jazz and challenges the tradition that expects singers to be the focal point in vocal recordings or performance. She plays with great players and creates musical situations that attract great listeners. For Rochelle, it has been a labor of love—and now it is a work of art.
Peace.

TESTIMONIALS FOR SINGING LESSONS WITH ROCHELLE:
I greatly cherish the time I spent learning from Rochelle. She had an innate
ability to tease out a more soulful . . . more genuine . . . version of my voice. Her
relaxed and compassionate approach also allowed me to feel more connected to
my core being, and helped my confidence soar. What I received in my lessons
with Rochelle far exceeded my hopes and expectations. Thank you Rochelle for
sharing your wisdom and passion – my world has been rocked!
- Ashley Raymond
Most importantly, singing lessons with Rochelle are fun. Through my lessons
with Rochelle, I developed confidence in my singing voice, increased my range,
played with music that I chose and loved and connected with the music.
Rochelle is one of those teachers whose style encourages improvement and risk
taking in a way where I, as a student, felt completely supported. Singing is now a
bigger part of my life because of having studied with Rochelle.
- Lauren Dudley
Singing lessons with Rochelle are more than music instruction; it’s music
therapy. She saw important and interesting connections between the songs I
chose to study and what was going on in my life, making the whole experience
more layered. I also felt welcome into Rochelle’s “jazz family,” enjoying not only
my time as student aside her baby grand but also exposure to people and
performances I might have otherwise missed.

Birth Songs
BirthSongs is an easy and comfortable technique that a woman can use before,
during, and after birthing her baby to self-comfort and center herself and her
baby.
In a BirthSongs group class you will spend time in a warm, fun, accepting, and
loving environment, learning to sing during pregnancy and through birthing. We
can get comfortable making sounds with our voices, singing to our unborn child
and learning about soothing our newborns with songs, as well as talking about
the experience of being pregnant and being a mother.
Private BirthSongs sessions are also available.
I am a mother of four children and a professional singer. Having given birth four
times has allowed me the opportunity to experience many different pain-
relieving and centering techniques. By the time I gave birth to my youngest
daughter, I had come to realize that singing during the birthing process was an
extremely effective method for relieving pain and calming myself.

TESTIMONIALS
When Rochelle House first suggested her birth-song technique during labor, I
wasn’t sure I would remember to use it. I am here to testify that this was what
got me through both deliveries.
