Kapsamun: Mania Ballkanike
Il quintetto che ne esce fuori ha la musica balcanica nel suo DNA. La musica folk albanese, le ballate kosovare (“Mania Balakanike”, “Valle Tiranese”), le sfaccettature e la creatività ritmiche orientale (“Gettin’High in Prishtina”).
Si guarda alla commistione di generi e linguaggi, come se ci fosse un radar a captare segnali sonori nella ionosfera; si guarda alla tradizione jazz ("P.GJ.GJ.P.M."), alle soffuse ambientazioni d’antan (“Në Zemrën Time Ndiej Sërish Dashuri”) alla salsa (“Bukuria Jote, Emidagma”), ma anche al passo moderno del nu-jazz (5-6-3-3-2) e al drum’n’bass (“Gettin High…”).
Un CD tra tradizione e modernità, forse un po’ troppo insistito nelle timbriche tzigane (col violino a farla da padrone), con uno slancio maggiore soprattutto nella parte iniziale e un po’ didattico per il resto, ma ricco di brillanti misture e voglia di suonare.
