Michael Sarian & The Chadbones: Leon
Pur mantenendo il suo ruolo solista, Sarian privilegia in questo disco il ruolo di orchestratore e leader. Ogni composizione ha un preciso mood, con limitati -ma articolati-interventi solisti.
Nell'avvio del primo brano, "Leon," ci sono chiari echi di chacarera ma poi è il lungo e animato intervento di Jim Piela al contralto a caratterizzarne lo svolgimento.
Il brano seguente "N° 3" introduce invece il contrasto tra statiche armonizzazioni del collettivo e nervose trame percussive presente in altri brani. Il momento centrale dell'album è il lungo e articolato "Your Words": un lento percorso che si snoda tra fondali sintetizzati, lunghe iterazioni ritmiche e radiose parti orchestrali fino all'incisivo assolo di Evan Francis al sax tenore.
