The road through this edition of OMJ wends through some heavier territory with new recordings by Igor Lumpert's Innertextures, Norwegian bassist Per Zanussi with the Vestnorsk Jazz Ensemble, the Brandon Ross Pendulum, violin and electronics from J.A. Deane & Jason Kao Hwang, Satoko Fujii, Ivo Perelman, and the Art Ensemble Of Chicago among others. Soprano saxophonist Jane Ira Bloom continues her exploration of duo recordings, and German saxophonist Almut Schlicting is featured in two different bands.
