Immaginare la musica dal basso, letteralmente. È questo il progetto che gli Ex-P (Andrea Chiuni, Alessandro Allera, Diego Rosso) realizzano nel loro CD di debutto Ancora Saigon.
Con i Pink Floyd in mente (quelli più psichedelici, magari di Ummagumma, per intenderci), i rigurgiti post - rock (un movimento già nato vecchio prima di farsi apprezzare e conoscere), gli Ex-P (due bassi, una batteria, un clarino e qualche aiuto di chitarra e banjo) costruiscono un lavoro di otto brani completamente strumentali.
Deriva sonica, la loro. Corposa per le scelte timbriche e anche un po’ avventurosa. Il risultato, laddove non si citi gente come i Tortoise (la title track parte 1 e 2, “Punto interrogativo”) è straniante. Ai confini della decostruzione formale.
Un flusso interrotto di suoni e idee, incontrollato e incontrollabile. Qualche buono spunto (“Ho scritto t’amo sulla spiaggia”) e qualche lungaggine di troppo (“Zaratustra reprise”).
“Bassi” e alti.
