Trio dalle geometrie inusuali ma non per questo inaudite (pensiamo solo a un ipotetico, assolutamente realistico, Giuffre/Brookmeyer/Manne, le cui temperature fanno del resto capolino in episodi quali "Drachengedankenkampf," "Ninna nanna," per certi versi anche "Domino"), il tedesco Tré poggia le proprie fondamenta sulle larghe volute disegnate dal trombone di Thomas Lüthi, non fosse altro che per un fatto di mero volume sonoro (capita spesso, quando c'è di mezzo un trombone).

L'approccio iniziale è corporeo, vitale, estroverso, anche se dopo un po' (per esempio in "Elf") inizia a manifestarsi qualche screpolatura verso territori più sperimentali, destrutturati, il che non significa che nel complesso non sia il primo terreno, quello più pieno e diretto, a prevalere, anche con qualche eccesso di iterazione, se vogliamo, favorito pure dalla brevità, e conseguente abbondanza, dei pezzi che compongono il lavoro (sedici, nessuno dei quali oltrepassa i quattro minuti).

L'immagine globale resta pur tuttavia quella di un album felicemente conchiuso, convincente e gratificante all'orecchio, strutturalmente solido, concreto. Un album che si fa ascoltare da cima a fondo senza stanchezza o appesantimenti di sorta.
