Bruce H. Klauber, Philadelphia’s own, will give a presentation on The History of Jazz Drumming on Film at Denver’s "Jazz on Film" Festival Feb. 13-15. His credentials would take up a book to cover, but to list a few, he is author, editor, biographer, educator, recording artist, producer, and not a bad classic pop and jazz vocalist. The festival produced by Jazz 89-KLIVO Radio, is in the Starz Film Center, Denver, Colorado

Klauber’s most famed book is probably the proverbial bible on the life of Gene Krupa called The World of Krupa. he also produced dozens of videos, CDs, articles on various jazz legends, notably among them those devoted to top drummers. Among his early cherished experiences was (as a teenaged drummer in Philadelphia) working with the famed sax star, , Charlie Ventura, who also happens to be from Philadelphia . Klauber has written and/or edited for Modern Drummer, Downbeat, Jazziz, Jazz Times, Atlantic City Monthly, Video Insider and Video Home Viewer.

Klauber still works occasional gigs as a drummer, vibes man, saxophonist, band leader and singer when not writing, editing and producing another video, book or CD. In short, he is, the man engaged.
