Bettina Corradini - Jazzen Group with Ernie Watts: Debandade

Vuole farci credere che sia un'artista allo sbando. Che passava il suo tempo a prestare canzoni per eventi importanti ("La vie est un grand cinéma" diventa la sigla dei Cesar del cinema francese cantata dalla svedese Sofie Kremen) o scrivere colonne sonore ("Le Voyage" di Michel Portal) o a dimenarsi tra una casa discografica e l'altra con manager che cercavano in lei più l'immagine da "femme fatale" che la sostanza di una cantante vera.

25 anni a Parigi e poi la decisione di tornare in Italia (il papà di Bettina era di origini italiane). Così, il tempo di incoraggiarsi a forza di jazz, funk, rock e r&B e prima o poi l'occasione doveva pure presentarsi.

Con Debandade (appunto sbando in francese), disco di debutto, Corradini ci mostra una coerenza ferrea, invece. Le idee sono chiare. I puntelli bassistici di Paolo Boninsegna ("Change" e "My Tribe" producono un groove coinvolgente), il pianismo attendista e essenziale di Aisha Ruggieri (con echi del miglior Herbie Hancock), il sax tenore (terribile e magniloquente) di Ernie Watts ("Andros Bar"), gli spruzzi di fisarmonica di Vincenzo "Titti" Castrini (da paesaggi romantici sulla Senna "Dehors il pleut") sono la narrazione felice e confortante di un disco d'esordio che ha la stessa accoglienza calda di un campo di girasoli.
