Alessandro Lanzoni Trio: Dark Flavour
Le linee melodiche sono esposte dal leader, che mantiene costantemente in mano il timone di questo lavoro, nel quale mette in mostra un timbro pulito e calibrato, che risulta lineare in diversi momenti, come nella title track, ma anche più irregolare e pronto alla variazioni improvvisa, come in "Feeling Nervous". Bortone e il batterista Enrico Morello si ritagliano pochi spazi solisti, ma producono un'intelaiatura ritmica ideale, sia nei temi dagli andamenti medio-voloci, come nell'iniziale
"Anatolio," sia quando il suono d'insieme si esprime attraverso ballad, come in "Levra". I temi monkiani mantengono intatti i loro lineamenti caratteriali, ma i ragazzi sanno anche prendere delle tangenti d'improvvisazione personale, risultando coerenti con l'atmosfera generale proposta nell'album.
Il trio ha dedicato a questo lavoro un'attenta preparazione in studio, che si è tradotta non solo nell'attenzione agli aspetti tecnici, ma soprattutto in una grande forza espressiva capace di emergere prepotente in alcuni brani chiave dell'intera incisione, come nell'intensità chiaroscurale di "Dark Flavour".
