Saxophonist Daniel Rorke, originally from Australia, then NYC, Scandinavia and now in Dublin Ireland, dropped some music on OMJ recently and tracks from different trios plus a stint in a crazy Icelandic big band are featured. Two very important alto saxophonists have new recordings on the way and those are previewed—Ornette Coleman's first two releases for Contemporary, all remastered and prettied up, and Loft Scene pioneer Alan Braufman with music from the '70s. The trio, Hello Cacus, has lots of promise; it features the fine young pianist Elias Stemeseder with Argentinean drummer Federico Isasti and Norwegian bassist Petter Asbjornsen. As always, there's more great music for you, including Australia's Delay 45.
