Come spesso succede, l’etichetta svizzera Altrisuoni ci presenta sottovoce un lavoro di musicisti lontani dalla ribalta, ma di grande sensibilità, capaci perciò di creare eccellenti atmosfere, solo apparentemente convenzionali, in realtà molto elaborate.

Il CD, a firma del batterista Silvano Borzacchiello (che con molto equilibrio si fa sempre sentire nelle varie tracce), ruota attorno al trio che questi compone assieme agli ottimi Jean-Christophe Cholet, pianoforte, e Stefano Dell’Ora, contrabbasso. Attorno ad essi Hilaria Kramer e Giulio Visibelli impreziosiscono la scena con espressive pennellate, che forse trovano la loro compiutezza in “Mendrisio”.

I paesaggi del Canton Ticino, qua e la là richiamati anche nei titoli, servono forse ad attutire i toni di un lavoro che è però tipicamente di jazz moderno, con alcuni inserti di contemporaneità, specie grazie a Cholet e alle improvvisazioni che questi lancia con i suoi rarefatti e obliqui accordi, come in “Preludio e Marcia” e in “Stolen Wallet”, e ai lunghi assoli di Dall’Ora, il quale è comunque il dominatore della scena, sostenendo la musica del gruppo con una corposità straordinaria per tutta la durata del lavoro.

Non è un disco che si apprezza appieno al primo ascolto, perché le sofisticate trame intessute dal trio si lasciano scoprire pian piano al di sotto di una superficie che, per la sua generale piacevolezza, può erroneamente lasciare una prima impressione di ordinarietà. Merita dunque una particolare attenzione.
