Grande protagonista del jazz moderno europeo, l'ottantacinquenne trombonista italiano Dino Piana lascia ancora il segno con questo bel disco. Attorniato da un gruppo di super-stelle, Piana torna a incantare anche grazie agli impasti timbrici delineati dal figlio Franco, deus ex machina delle nove tracce. In reviewing an earlier album ( Conversation ) by Dino and Franco Piana, I’d made the assumption that they were brothers -- but after reading the notes and seeing the photos in the booklet accompanying Interplay for 20 I realized that they are father (Dino) and son (Franco).
