Lucien Dubuis Trio: Lucien Dubuis Trio: Design Your Future / Future Rock

Lucien Dubuis Trio: Future Rock

Read "Future Rock" reviewed by Mark Corroto

by Mark Corroto

The entire debate that bids one to take sides regarding art being either made by conservatory trained artistes or original primitives is quite the red herring. Sure, punk rock favored emotion over skill, but nobody would argue against Television guitarist Tom Verlaine's talent or the folk music of guitarist Bill Frisell. If you can play and you have not shed you primal unpretentious sound, then we have the recipe for a moving experience.Saxophonist Lucien Dubuis's trio has both ...

Scope: Rotten Magic

Basti pensare agli ...

Grand Reportage Ensemble Deluxe and Lucien Dubuis: Live from the Surface of the Sun

Read "Live from the Surface of the Sun" reviewed by AAJ Italy Staff

by AAJ Italy Staff

Ma la musica presentata in Live from the Surface of the Sun è tutt'altro che pomposa e stucchevole.

Lucien Dubuis Trio & Marc Ribot: Ultime Cosmos

Read "Ultime Cosmos" reviewed by AAJ Italy Staff

Lucien Dubuis Trio with Marc Ribot: Ultime Cosmos

Read "Ultime Cosmos" reviewed by Mark Corroto

by Mark Corroto

Lucien Dubuis' Swiss trio has had a long association with guitarist Marc Ribot. He might even have been the inspiration for the reedman, bassist/guitarist Roman Nowka, and drummer Lionel Friedli to form their group. So when the New York guitarist joins them for Ultime Cosmos, there is bound be fireworks.

The Lucien Dubuis Trio has released Le Retour (Unit Records, 2007) and Tovorak (Self Produced, 2005), both bearing the mark of Ribot's early bands: Rootless Cosmopolitans, The Lounge ...

Scope: NuGara
