Con la All Stars Swing Orchestra, ovvero A.S.S.O., ("from Campania," come ci tengono a sottolineare), ci troviamo di fronte ad una big band che suona mainstream con disinvoltura ed intelligenza, e con arrangiamenti di alto livello: uno per tutti "It Don´t Mean a Thing" di Duke Ellington, in versione latina e con assoli che poco hanno da invidiare a quelli dei jazzisti d´oltre oceano.

A rinforzare la sapiente scrittura del batterista e leader Sergio Di Natale ci sono musicisti noti a livello nazionale, come Jerry Popolo, Pietro Condorelli e Vincenzo Saetta, che mostrano un alto livello tecnico esecutivo.

Tutto funziona così bene che quasi ci si stupisce che ci siano musicisti in Italia che si dedicano a questo tipo di repertorio con la naturalezza di chi questo repertorio lo ha assorbito dalla cultura in cui è nato. In un periodo di smantellamento di orchestre una realtà così sembra un lusso arrivato dal cielo.

C´è solo da sperare che tanta fatica trovi l'attenzione dei promoters. Vale la pena sul serio andarli ad ascoltare.
