Diskaholics Anonymous Trio: Weapons of Ass Destruction
Anche se le press notes si premurano di segnalarci come la loro musica sia avant/punk/noise/free jazz [dovremmo forse barrare la soluzione che si preferisce?] nella certezza di attirare comunque a sé quanti identifichino i propri interessi in una di queste direzioni, i Diskaholics Anonymous operano in realtà una più semplice riflessione sulle asperità della materia sonora.
Siano esse quelle dei picchi lancinanti e isterici del sassofono, o del feedback della chitarra, o siano quelle più sfumate, ma altrettanto angoscianti della minacciosa seconda parte, queste asperità vengono intagliate dai tre con la maestria che riconosciamo loro, evocando scenari cupi e guerreschi pienamente in linea con quelle che sono le angosciose risposte della quotidianità in molte zone del mondo.
Senza curarsi di mutare l'incedere massiccio dei suoni - con esito di indubbia coerenza ed efficacia, ma anche di complessivo tedio all'ascolto casalingo - i tre procedono a spianare il silenzio davanti a sé, finché non ne restino che misere spoglie. Immaginiamo che l'effetto dal vivo sia stato conturbante. Il disco è consigliato sono agli affezionati.
