Joan Hutton

Born: May 18, 1969

Joan Hutton is a woodwind performer, composer and music educator residing in Minneapolis and hailing from Toronto, Canada. Her varied musical interests have led her over the years to classical, jazz, funk, free improvisation, pit orchestras and more. Joan has released two albums of original music on Shifting Paradigm Records with co-leader Sue Orfield: Take That Back (2022) and Splash (2024). She is also a long time member of the Ancia Saxophone Quartet, with recordings on the Naxos and Albany labels.

Gretchen Elise is a Philadelphia- based singer-songwriter whose passion for life and the unexpected engages listeners and audiences. Flirting with reggae, soul, hip hop and dance music while grounded in her jazz-based passionate, lyrical voice, her songs tell compelling stories guided by undivided attention to a good groove. Ellister van der Molen

Born: March 1, 1977

Born into a music loving family, Ellister van der Molen started out young at the special talent class of The Hague's Royal Conservatory. While initially starting as a classical player, through the years she has established herself as a leader and soloist in a wide array of musical genres. Her CD “Smalls NYC” got critical acclaim, leading to invitations for major venues such as the prestigous North Sea Jazz Festival. Currently Ellister is a co-leader of the succesful soulful Hammond jazz band RED, that’s releasing it’s second album November 2020. Her sound – especially on her beloved instrument the flugelhorn – is remarkably warm, her melodies lyrical

The Red Rose Project

THE ARTISTS With performance ensembles in both Philadelphia & Seattle (& soon in Ottawa!) The Red Rose Jazz Project highlights the work of women composers and lyricists from the early 1920s to today with classic and contemporary Jazz interpretations of the standards, popular music, and their own original compositions. As an all women's collaborative, the project takes its name in honor of American Artist Violet Oakley and her "Red Rose Girls" who chose to live and work together in solidarity - focused on their art. Lisa Maxwell's Jazz Orchestra

Lisa Maxwell has composed, arranged, orchestrated, produced, and conducted music for small combos, horn sections, strings, big band and full orchestra. Part of the Emmy Award-winning music team for Warner Bros., Lisa was an orchestrator on all 52 episodes of Histeria! animated series, and Animaniacs: Wakko's Wish feature film. Her original music has been licensed for TV shows including: Sons of Anarchy, Person of Interest, Dexter, Burn Notice, Four Weddings, Gravity. Currently, Lisa is preparing to release her debut big band album, Shiny! Dedicated to legendary trumpeter Lew Soloff, it features Randy Brecker and an all-star band playing her charts.
