Jazz trumpeter Yakiv Tsvietinskyi is one of the modern voices of the Ukrainian jazz scene. Deeply rooted in classical and modernist music as a composer, Yakiv creates jazz pieces with developed complex textures while maintaining the freedom and spontaneity of the improvisational nature of jazz. His trumpet style combines the influences of Chet Baker’s lyricism, Clark Terry’s feel of motion, Tomasz Stanko’s sound and Kenny Wheeler’s unpredictability. Danil Zverkhanovsky

Born: March 28, 1994

As a kid growing up in Kyiv, Danil had a choice between pursuing painting or playing guitar. After a few years of trial he’d left the former behind and made the latter into a profession. The time spent studying at the Glier college of music under Volodymyr Shabaltas was crucial for his musical identity and created long lasting ties with many prominent Ukrainian musicians.

In 2012 Zverkhanovsky goes out to Graz for his first foreign land experience and spends a term studying at University of Arts. Among the most significant musical experiences he’s found there were classes with trumpeter Stjepko Gut.

Andrii Pokaz

Andrii Pokaz is a Ukrainian pianist and composer who works at the intersection of classical and jazz.

A rising star of crossover music, he demonstrates virtuoso mastery of the instrument and magnetic improvisation, creating an absolutely unique atmosphere during his live performances.

His extensive repertoire includes original jazz and neoclassical works, reimagined pieces by classical composers, jazz standards, and even pop music masterpieces.
