Like many musicians before him, John was born into a musical family. Both his mother and father are accomplished pianists. John’s musical journey began on piano at age 5. He fell in love with the trumpet at at 10 and later learned to play drums at age 12. John graduated from Point Loma Nazarene University with a B.A. in Music Education. He later won a scholarship enabling him to join San Diego State University’s internationally acclaimed jazz program where he earned his Master’s Degree in Jazz Performance. John was recently accepted the D.M.A. program at the University of Southern California and has been awarded a musical merit scholarship

Mathias Eick, is a Norwegian jazz musician born (26 June 1979) near the town of Eidsfoss in the county of Vestfold, Norway. His main instrument is trumpet, but he also plays double bass, vibraphone, piano and guitar. Mathias Eick has performed with several well-known music groups and musicians, Jaga Jazzist and "Trondheim Jazz Orchestra" together with Chick Corea and Pat Metheny. Mathias Eick was awarded “The International Jazz Award for New Talent 2007”. Alex Sipiagin

Alex Sipiagin was born on June 11, 1967 in Yaroslavl, Russia, a provincial city 150 miles from Moscow known for being home to one of Russia’s most famous opera singers, Leonid Sobinov, also Alex’s great-grand uncle. At 12 years of age, he began playing in a children's orchestra, studying under the great symphonic trumpeter and teacher, Mikhael Tsamaiev, his first inspiration. It was shortly after entering a local musical college at age 15 that Sipiagin was introduced to and inspired by what few and rare taped recordings were available in Russia of bebop and other jazz music. He knew he had to go to Moscow for a chance to learn more, and at 16 auditioned for the Moscow Music Institute, where he beat out 50 other students to get in

Bill Lucas
A member of the Detroit Symphony Orchestra trumpet section since May 1988, Bill Lucas was born and raised in the Detroit metropolitan area. He attended Plymouth High School and the University of Michigan, where he was enrolled in both the schools of engineering and music. Throughout the years he has performed as a freelance musician in the Detroit/Ann Arbor areas, and he served as Associate Principal Trumpet of the Toledo Symphony prior to his appointment in Detroit.

Paul Finkbeiner
Paul Finkbeiner is one of Michigan's top trumpet stars, performing for over 15 years with the Paul Keller Orchestra (formerly the Bird of Paradise Orchestra). He can be heard at the Firefly Club Sunday afternoons with Phil Oglive's Rhythm Kings (a small big band that specializes in music from the 20's and 30's, Monday night with the Paul Keller Orchestra (formerly the Bird of Paradise Orchestra), and Wednesday night with the Paul Keller Ensemble (a modern jazz sextet modeled after Art Blakey's Jazz Messengers).

Till Brönner is Germany’s leading jazz trumpeter. While he is known for his outstanding virtuosity, he is also referred to as a ‘German Chet Baker’. Brönner studied jazz trumpet at the College of Music, Cologne. Among his prominent teachers are Prof. Malte Burba and the American jazz trumpeter Bobby Shew. His first album, Generations of Jazz, with Ray Brown, Jeff Hamilton, Frank Chastenier and Grégoire Peters, was released in 1993. Immediately it won the ‘Preis der deutschen Schallplattenkritik’ (German Records Criticism Award). From then on he played with international greats such as Dave Brubeck, Tony Bennett, Mark Murphy, James Moody, Monty Alexander, Nils Landgren as well as Klaus Doldinger and Joe Sample.
