Peter Fernandes

Peter Fernandes is a trumpet player and producer from Southeastern Massachusetts. In high school, Peter played in bands both in and out out of school and found a passion for music that eventually led him to jazz, rock, Latin music, and everything in between. It was during this time that he also discovered composition and the joy of hearing an arrangement realized by live instruments. By the time he graduated high school, Peter was in the middle of recording and producing his first solo album. Since this time, he has recorded and been the sole producer of two more solo albums. In his latest album, “The New Me,” Peter again presents a mix of genres rooted in jazz, this time with a cast of top musicians including Rick Britto, Ric Fierabracci, Trevor Kellum, Dave Weckl, and Johannes Zetterberg

Mr. Klobnak also the trumpet and brass instructor at Arapahoe Community College, have released two very well reviewed Jazz improvisation books, do clinics, perform, and keep a steady teaching studio both in- person and on Skype

Jevon J.

Jevon J. is a Jazz Trumpeter originally out of Miami, Fl. Jevon began playing trumpet around 13 years of age and ran into jazz at age 14. Many years later he was awared a full scholarship to several different universities for both Classical and Jazz performance in July of1999. Jevon did not complete his training but instead enrolled in the US Army for a time period that would span more than 6 years. During this time he did not perform or play his instrument since he did leave it in Miami, Fl and was focused on his military career at the time. Jevon is now in Tampa, Fl and back performing when the opportunity presents itself

Steph Richards is a dynamic improvisor known for her innovative approach to the trumpet and interdisciplinary expression as a composer. An “innately adventurous trumpeter”, (Downbeat), she has collaborated with visionaries Henry Threadgill, Anthony Braxton, Muhal Richard Abrams and John Zorn as well as art pop luminaries Yoko Ono, St. Vincent, David Byrne and Laurie Anderson. Characterized by The New York Times as “boldly inventive…Richards composes in ways that standard notation could never document.” her works span interactions with film, poetry, electronics, choreography and scent and have garnered critical acclaim including Record of the Year by the New York Times and Downbeat. Her seminal record Supersense (2019) featuring all-star improvisers Jason Moran, Stomu Takeishi and Kenny Wolleson includes multimedia artist Sean Raspet creating singular, abstract scents to both inform and converse with the recording.

Susana Santos Silva is a trumpeter, improviser and composer from Porto, Portugal. In the last years she has been considered by the international press as one of the strongest emerging voices in contemporary jazz and improvised music. With a singular approach/voice that comes out of a comprehensive spectrum of influences, from classical and contemporary music to jazz and textural sound art, she is interested in stretching the boundaries of the instrument and in exploring new ways of expression within music. Michael Hackbert

Born:

Mike Hackbert is the creative force behind Hackdaddy. Mike has been an active musician since the early 70's, when he began playing brass instruments and settled on the trumpet as a primary instrument. Mike was involved with a number of bands and ensembles in high school and college; his composing and arranging skills were honed in college and are still in use today. In the 80's and 90's Mike was based in Champaign-Urbana Illinois and could be seen in a number of groups around the area in addition to work as a soloist, in the theatre pits and in local recording studios. The main focus at that time was the group Champaign Brass, a brass quintet founded by Mike in 1986 that is still active today
