Dan Rosenboom

Dan Rosenboom (b. May 7, 1982) is an internationally recognized trumpet player, composer, and producer. He is known as a prolific member of the Los Angeles creative music scene, having released more than 25 albums of original music as a solo artist and bandleader and has supported over 60 artists across over 100 releases on his label, Orenda Records. Rosenboom is a proud member of the Hollywood Studio Symphony and has recorded for over 200 major film and television soundtracks with such notable composers as John Williams, Danny Elfman, James Newton Howard, Alan Silvestri, Alexandre Desplat, and many more. He has also performed with such elite ensembles as the LA Philharmonic, the LA Chamber Orchestra, and the LA Opera. His own music eschews genre distinctions and draws from such disparate influences as Black American Music, metal and experimental rock, contemporary classical music, folk music from the Balkans, and a broad range of progressive music from the avant-garde. He studied at the Eastman School of Music, CalArts, and UCLA, where he earned advanced degrees in music. The Los Angeles Times has called Dan Rosenboom “a musician dedicated to exploration and expression, regardless of anyone’s imagined boundaries,” and “a phenomenon.”

Kirsi-Marja Harju

Kirsi-Marja “Kiki” Harju (1993) is a Finnish trumpet player, singer, bandleader and composer based in
Amsterdam. “I didn’t choose the trumpet, the trumpet chose me,” she recalls. “I wanted to play
everything else, particularly violin, but as a kid I made mistakes in the music school exam, I was so
nervous.” She was put into the wind department, given a pocket trumpet and soon found she could play
beautiful melodies. She also sang. “My friends said I was too loud but I loved it. I was in choirs and vocal
groups at school. Later I heard Chet Baker and realised I could combine the two.”
She has studied music both in Finland and in The Netherlands, and lastly she graduated from the jazz
department of Conservatorium van Amsterdam in 2019

Fumosonic is the culmination of 20+ years of marriage and collaboration between John and Kelly Fumo. The vision of these two musician/composers from Los Angeles, CA is a transformative musical experience that draws upon John’s jazz influences and Kelly’s love of music. The pair met while doing a recording session for singer Delaney Bramlett and had an instant connection. Their journey began with the first song they created called “Shut Up and Go Home!”, which showcases the unique formula of a heavy beat, Kelly’s strong vocals and some free jazz improvisation by John. John’s trumpet playing may be heavily influenced by Miles Davis and the free expressions of jazz music, but he has worked as a side man with the likes of Neil Diamond, James Brown, Beck and Brian Setzer

Ralph Alessi is an ECM recording artist and acclaimed American jazz trumpeter, composer, and educator known for his distinctive and innovative approach to jazz improvisation and composition. Born in San Rafael, California, in 1963, he was raised in a musical family. His father, Joseph Alessi, was a classical trumpeter and his mother, Maria Leone, an opera singer. In addition, his brother Joe Alessi is a world renowned classical trombonist. His upbringing in this environment laid the foundation for his deep connection to music.
He studied at the California Institute of the Arts, where he pursued both classical and jazz music, earning a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree (and master’s degree in jazz bass). Alessi’s versatility in different musical traditions has contributed to his unique sound, blending classical precision with avant-garde jazz.

He earned a Bachelor of Music Education from the University of Cincinnati College—Conservatory of Music and holds a Master of Arts in Education from the College of Mount Saint Joseph. For three decades he taught many beginning band students in New Richmond, Ohio. Jeff has performed with many entertainers, including Frank Sinatra, Rosemary Clooney, Nancy Wilson, Joe Williams, and Natalie Cole. Ed was raised in Erie PA. He has been playing trumpet for more than 50 years. At age 5 he attended a high school band concert that featured a trumpet soloist. This event stuck with him and he started playing trumpet in 7th grade. He was involved with concert and marching band at McDowell High School in Erie and also in the Erie Junior Philharmonic Orchestra. “I was introduced to jazz by my music teacher who played Maynard Ferguson records for me. I quickly found my way to Miles, Duke, Monk, and Trane and was hooked for life.” Ed attended Thiel College in Western PA graduating in 1969, with a major in history and minor in Greek
