Paulo Perfeito

Born: July 12, 1974

Paulo Perfeito , trombonist , composer and educator was born in Porto, Portugal in 1974 . His musical studies began in a local marching band, and proceeded in the Conservatorio de Musica in Porto and later in the Escola de Jazz do Porto. After attending the Jamey Aebersold Summer Jazz Workshop in 1996 , Paulo was encouraged to continue his studies in Jazz at the Berklee College of Music where in 2001 he obtained the degree of Bachelor of Music . In 2007 Paulo obtained the degree of Master of Music at the New England Conservatory and he is currently pursuing a Doctor of Musical Arts at the prestigious Eastman School of Music.

From Working-Class to First Class: Trombonist Pat Hall and Time Remembered Trombonist Pat Hall was born in Flint, Michigan, in 1965. His upbringing was typical of its time and place - very Michael Moore Roger & Me-era working-class. Indeed, his father worked in the local GM plant. Neither parent was particularly musical, though Pat remembers his father being partial to Kraftwerk and Pink Floyd. "Thanks to the eight-track in his car," Pat says, "that music became imprinted on my brain." Brent White

BRENT WHITE is well on his way to becoming a legend in his own right, having studied trombone with some of the best in jazz such as Slide Hampton and Al Grey and played with the likes of John Legend and Chubby Checker and receiving accolades from legendary jazz great Mickey Roker who says WHITE makes music that “feels good”. WHITE is able to accomplish this through original music composition and trombone playing that has yet to fail the listening ear in search of good music. WHITE began playing the trombone in 6th grade. Not easily deterred, WHITE practiced and persisted, receiving his early training at the High School of Creative and Performing Arts and the Philadelphia Clef Club of Jazz and Performing Arts

Jeff Bradshaw

Jeff Bradshaw’s story began at a dusty floored church in North Philly, where brass bands are the main attraction. He was born and raised in church and that is where he had his first musical experience. The first instrument he began playing was the snare drum. Following that Mr. Bradshaw began playing the baritone horn and sousaphone. He recalls one very powerful day in high school when everyone was asked to stand in front of the instrument they would like to play. Of course, there was a crowd surrounding the drums, guitars, saxophones, trumpets, percussion, and woodwinds, but not one person was standing near the stack of trombones in the corner

Michael Vander Does

Michael Vander Does first made his mark on the Columbus, Ohio, arts scene in the late ‘70s when he started and ran the Poetry in the Park program for the City of Columbus. The program presented 30 Ohio poets every summer with many of the readings well attended. He also presented world class luminaries including Marge Piercy, Nikki Giovanni, Adrienne Rich, Amiri Baraka, and Allen Ginsberg whose reading packed the park in 1985. He received the Mayor’s Medal for this volunteer work. In 1985, he married Kate Schulte, a civil rights attorney. Their shared commitment to social justice inspires much of his poetry

Michael Wilkinson

Michael Wilkinson is a member of the combo The Jazz Professors, whose album "Do That Again" was a JazzWeek top-ten charter through most of the first quarter of 2013. In Orlando, he has performed with the Orlando Jazz Orchestra and the Brass Band of Central Florida (on baritone), as well as The Jazz Professors. In Arizona, he has played in salsa, jazz and orchestral bands, including I-10 Trombone Conspiracy, as well as in numerous pits for road companies of touring Broadway Musicals like "The Full Monty." Michael plays tenor, bass, alto trombone, and euphonium and has studied with Tom Ervin, Gail Wilson, Ralph Sauer and Sam Pilafian.
