Michael Vander Does

Michael Vander Does first made his mark on the Columbus, Ohio, arts scene in the late ‘70s when he started and ran the Poetry in the Park program for the City of Columbus. The program presented 30 Ohio poets every summer with many of the readings well attended. He also presented world class luminaries including Marge Piercy, Nikki Giovanni, Adrienne Rich, Amiri Baraka, and Allen Ginsberg whose reading packed the park in 1985. He received the Mayor’s Medal for this volunteer work. In 1985, he married Kate Schulte, a civil rights attorney. Their shared commitment to social justice inspires much of his poetry

Michael Wilkinson

Michael Wilkinson is a member of the combo The Jazz Professors, whose album "Do That Again" was a JazzWeek top-ten charter through most of the first quarter of 2013. In Orlando, he has performed with the Orlando Jazz Orchestra and the Brass Band of Central Florida (on baritone), as well as The Jazz Professors. In Arizona, he has played in salsa, jazz and orchestral bands, including I-10 Trombone Conspiracy, as well as in numerous pits for road companies of touring Broadway Musicals like "The Full Monty." Michael plays tenor, bass, alto trombone, and euphonium and has studied with Tom Ervin, Gail Wilson, Ralph Sauer and Sam Pilafian.

Reginald Cyntje Music

REGINALD CYNTJE (born in Roseau, Dominica and raised on St. Thomas, USVI) is a trombonist, educator, producer, and composer. He has created and performed an eclectic range of music. When you listen to Cyntje perform, you hear a passion for life and love in his sound. Growing up in the US Virgin Islands (USVI), he was steeped in the rich cultural music known as Quelbe (the official music of the USVI). Quelbe was Reginald’s introduction to improvised music. With cultural heritage at the forefront and social justice as the message, he has “a deep-seated knowledge of Caribbean music and culture which has settled into his jazz trombone playing” (NPR Music). To date, Cyntje has recorded six albums as a leader

Dan Lehner

Born:
Dan Lehner is a freelance trombonist, composer and educator in the Washington Heights neighborhood of Manhattan. Born in Hamilton, New Jersey, Lehner briefly attended University of the Arts in Philadelphia before finishing his undergraduate degree in Jazz Studies at William Paterson University, studying under New York trombonists John Mosca and Tim Newman, as well as studying composition with Elliot Carter scholar John Link. At WPUNJ, he created and led custom-made small ensembles focusing on modern jazz repertory, as well as performed with musicians like Scott Robinson and former Yankee turned guitarist Bernie Williams with the William Paterson Jazz Orchestra

Jackson Hardaker

Jackson Hardaker is a New York City based trombonist, originally from Christchurch, New Zealand. He moved to NYC in 2009 to pursue and immerse himself on the world of jazz and improvised music, and has been increasingly making his mark on the NYC jazz scene ever since. His music draws from a range of styles and influences, from within multiple genres of music, as well as garnering inspiration from art, science, and literature. Now an accomplished performer and musical improviser, he has completed a Bachelor of Music in Jazz Performance, from Canterbury University, and a Master of Arts in Jazz Performance from The Aaron Copland School of Music at Queens College in New York

Peter Lind

Born in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, trombonist Peter Lin has been recently described by Downbeat Magazine as “solid, fluid, and smooth”. He received his B.A. Music from William Paterson University and MM for Jazz Trombone Studies at Rutgers University. He is currently a faculty member at Jazz House Kids in Montclair, NJ as well as Slide Hampton’s manager. Deeply rooted in the trombone tradition, he has studied with jazz luminaries such as Slide Hampton, Curtis Fuller, Conrad Herwig, and Steve Turre. As a featured soloist and sideman, Peter has performed with world-class jazz artists including Slide Hampton, Steve Davis, Winard Harper, Charli Persip, Anthony Nelson Jr., Wayne Escoffery, Johnathan Blake, Josh Evans, Valarie Ponomarev, Jack Jeffers, Kenny Davis, Steve Williams, and Radam Schwartz
