Lukasz Juzko

Born: June 28, 1989

My name is Łukasz Juźko. I am a saxophonist and composer. I initiate different kinds of musical projects. I have been awarded in multiple competitions and festivals. As a 20-year- old I debuted on the jazz scene with a concert starring New York singer – Judy Bady. That was the moment when I really relished jazz music. Later on, the fire that burns to this day was heated by the exceptional meeting with Billy Harper. I am a graduate of Jazz and Stage Music at the Academy of Music in Gdansk in the class of Maciej Sikała. I participated in many workshops and collaborated with such musicians as: Piotr Wojtasik, Judy Bady, Billy Harper, Newman Tylor Baker, Francesca Tanksley, Maciej Sikała, Wayne Dockery, Steve McCraven, prof

Polygon Quartet

Polygon launched their first album "Monkey Puzzle" at the 2017 Manchester Jazz Festival. They are a jazz saxophone quartet made up of 4 internationally award winning saxophone players. With original material written by Tom Thorp (Soprano/Alto) and Kyran Matthews (Baritone) Polygon blend the complex interplay of classical chamber music with fiery and virtuosic jazz improvisations. Their energetic performances see them journey through the realms of free improvisation to classic be-bop styles, alongside elements of classical music, funk and contemporary European jazz, using a variety of sax groupings

Frank Kimbrough: Quartet

by Maurizio Zerbo
October 13, 2014

Frank Kimbrough: Quartet

by Dan Bilawsky
October 1, 2014

The majority of pianist Frank Kimbrough's albums have focused on the piano trio format, but he's certainly willing to try other things; he made that clear by recording in a duo with vibraphonist Joe Locke on more than one occasion, putting together a bass-less quartet for Noumena (Soul Note, 2000), and going it alone on Air ...
