Mike McCormick

Mike McCormick is an Oslo-based guitarist, laptop performer and composer originally from Yellowknife, Canada. Much of Mike’s creative output is based on autobiographical material and draws from a variety of disciplines, including conceptual and performance art, electroacoustic music, twentieth-century literature, and various notated and improvised music traditions. Besides performing regularly in ad hoc improvising and chamber ensembles, his active projects include the EIDOLON, an improvising algorithmic computer program, the jazz composer’s orchestra OJKOS, the experimental metal band YAWN, and his vivid depictions of human intimacy explored in the Proxemics project. Mike has been fortunate enough to perform in Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Finland, Poland, England, France, Belgium, Germany, Italy, Switzerland, India and all across Canada, including performances at the Ultima Oslo Contemporary Music Festival, Copenhagen Jazz Festival, Ottawa International Jazz Festival, and the 2010 Vancouver Olympics.

Kristian B. Jacobsen is a Norwegian acoustic and electric bassist. He is a member of the Norwegian jazz/soul quartet ROHEY that has toured extensively throughout Europe and Scandinavia. Jacobsen features releases by Lukas Zabulionis Quintet, Drøm and ROHEY.

Sigurd Hole

Sigurd Hole is a norwegian bassplayer from Rendalen living in Oslo. After finishing his masters degree in jazz and improvised music at the Norwegian Academy of Music in 2008, he has worked full time as a musician in various ensembles. Often with music relating somehow to norwegian folk music combined with elements from contemporary jazz in bands such as Karl Seglem acoustic quartet, Østerdalsmusikken and Eple Trio. The latter has been his main project for the past 10 years - alongside his more american influenced jazz- and pop oriented work with norwegian guitarist Jon Eberson (most notably in the band Jon Eberson Group). Sigurd recently joined Tord Gustavsens quartet, replacing Mats Eilertsen as the groups new bass player.

Kjetil Mulelid

Kjetil A. Mulelid has distinguished himself as an inventive artist, blending jazz, psalms, and rhythmic improvised music. He grew up in the small village Hurdal, Akershus, and started playing the piano in a early age. In 2010 he graduated from Jessheim high school where he had some really inspiring piano teachers: Ulrika Magdalena Lind, Morten Reppesgård and Jan Terje Augestad. Then he took one year at Høgskolen i Staffeldstgate in Oslo before he went to do a bachelor degree in jazz performance at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology in Trondheim (NTNU, Jazzlinja). Here he really learned to use the piano as his own language with the great teachers Erling Aksdal, Vigleik Storaas, Espen Berg and Eyolf Dale.

Michael Bloch

Michael Bloch received a lot of attention when, at the age of 16, he was already a professional jazz pianist, playing with well-known and renowned musicians. However, at that time he was becoming deeply involved with the music of John Coltrane, and he eventually decided to learn the saxophone and pursue a career as a sax player. That led him to the unusual situation of being a professional musician on two completely different instruments. Although having received some private teaching on both piano and saxophone, Bloch is mostly self-taught as a musician and has learned his craft mainly by pursuing his own goals and ambitions

Started playing acoustic guitar at the age of 14, but after a year it was changed to the electric guitar. He has a bachelor degree from the Norwegian academy of music. Compositional work revolves around the bands he is playing in and currently the most active ones are KIAP, Gúo and Nilasalin.

Norwegian piano player, father of triplets. Based in Oslo, working internationally. DUGNAD rec artist and maker of #DailyPiano videos on Facebook and Instagram. Born 1988 in Ålesund. Played in Åse Skolekorps Marching Band. Got a really great Swedish piano teacher at age 10, who encouraged to pursue all music, not just classical. Got heavily into early Elton John, soul, funk, fusion, jazz and avant-garde - still studying George Gershwin & Béla Bartók. Played in the local Big Odd Band, leading to The Middle Norwegian Youth Big Band (Midtnorsk ungdomsstorband), meeting future collaborator Henrik Munkeby Nørstebø, Kristoffer Eikrem and Dan Peter Sundland. Went to the Sund Folk College's jazz class (check that thing out!) and got to consistently playing piano with other people in bands for the first time
