Audun Aschim Steffensen

Audun Aschim Steffensen (b. 1991) was educated at the Norwegian Academy of Music where he earned a Master’s degree in composition and guitar performance. Already at the age of 23, he collaborated with Paolo Vinaccia on Dommedag ifølge Paulus, a work commissioned by Oslo Jazzfestival with the Norwegian Soloist Choir and guitarist Eivind Aarset. He has since worked on many interdisciplinary productions, including Alya-Vijnana for The Norwegian Wind Ensemble with Hanna Rabe as soloist in 2017.

In 2018, his work Cryptics for solo percussionist was premiered by KORK percussionist Christian Lundqvist as part of the KORK-Kammer series. He recently wrote Anastasis for Nils Petter Molvær and Catharina Chen, which was premiered at Music in Sandefjord in October 2019.

While maintaining a hectic schedule as a performing musician, Audun still manages to find time to compose his own music, which has resulted in his debut album MYTHOS, released on Smeik in September 2019.
