The Art of Jazz with Tracey Whitney is the resident band for Babydoll’s House of Jazz & Blues, the premier jazz nightclub in Albuquerque, NM.

The band features Babydoll’s owner/proprietor Tracey Whitney, an award-winning jazz vocalist and former Ray Charles “Raelette.” She’s joined by award-winning producer, pianist, and band leader Sid Fendley; New Mexico Music Hall of Fame inductee and guitarist, Dan Dowling; bassist Jack Hanan, and drummer Wayne Johnson.

The Art of Jazz with Tracey Whitney is a premier jazz ensemble that delivers a refined blend of timeless jazz and sophisticated soul – the perfect complement to Babydoll’s luxurious setting.

Leo Cox Trio

Active since: October 21, 2005

Rooted in Halifax’s vibrant jazz community, the Leo Cox Trio brings a groove-forward sound shaped by a new generation.

Featuring Leo Cox on bass, Ben Tucker on guitar, and Dante Kierstead on drums, the trio mixes tight musicianship with the open, anything-can-happen energy of today’s jazz. Their sets move fluidly from post-bop to funk and cinematic fusion — always grounded in feel and driven by instinct.

Their weekly Tuesday Night Jazz residency at The Economy Shoe Shop has become a downtown staple, known for evolving sets, originals, and spontaneous sit-ins with local artists.

Valerie Monroe

Born: April 11

It all started with Jazz music for Valerie. She began singing at the age of 19. Valerie sang in front of her first audience trying to win scholarship money for college. From that point on she was bitten by the performance bug. Being introduced to jazz first, Valerie developed her talent by listening to such artists as Sarah Vaughn, Dinah Washington, Nancy Wilson and Nina Simone. Valerie has performed in various arenas with a wide array of artists such as Los Angeles Lakers and San Antonio Spurs performing the National Anthem, opening for Jazz Greats Dizzy Gillespie and Mel Torme and Comedian Redd Foxx in Las Vegas

Tedd Baker

Born: August 29, 1974

Tenor and soprano saxophonist Tedd Baker brings raw energy to every performance by creating a unique soulful sound full of original phrases based firmly in the tradition. Tedd strives to connect immediately with his patrons and fellow band mates as is evident in the approving hollers on the bandstand and the applause in the audience. Tedd is also well respected among his peers and has a great rapport among fellow musicians. Both a composer and performer, Tedd is celebrating the release of his all-original debut CD "MUGSHOTS" this year. Born in Binghamton, NY, Tedd was raised near Boston and started studying piano at the age of 6

Maria Puga Lareo

Born and raised in Buenos Aires, Argentina, she began her professional career in her early twenties by singing in the culturally rich city’s clubs, theaters, and at jazz festivals. In 2000, the popular Fox Sports TV program Limite 4x4, broadcast in over 25 countries, asked Maria to co-write and sing their title theme. In 2005, she released her self-produced debut album, Body and Soul, and followed in 2011 with Facetas, which was recorded both in New York and Buenos Aires with arrangements by multi-GRAMMY-winning pianist-arranger-conductor Carlos Franzetti and featuring legendary bassist Eddie Gómez, jazz producer Fernando Gelbard on flute, Ed Uribe on drums, Latin GRAMMY-winning guitarist Quique Sinesi and pianist Frank Collett. Celebrated in Argentina and particularly well-received in Japan, Facetas also received positive acclaim from Arturo Sandoval, Lalo Schifrin, and Jorge Calandrelli, among others.

Marco Zanoli

Born: 1971

Marco Zanoli: Born in 1971 in Gallarate (Italy).

Started studying drums at the age of 15. Graduated at the Mozart College in Samarate (VA) in 1991 where he studied drums and percussions with Roberto Cavallo.

Following his graduation, continueshis studies with such masters as Elliot Zigmund, Gianni Cazzola, Ron Savage, Fabrizio Sferra, Ettore Fioravanti, Mauro Beggio. In addition to that, participates in a number of master classes and courses such as Berklee College Summer Schoolin Perugia, Siena Jazz and Sondrio Jazz.

In 1996, attracted by the art of improvisation, attends high profile Jazz Trio workshop led by Stefano Battaglia, Paolino Dalla Porta and Fabrizio Sferra. He has been a member of "THEATRUM" band of Stefano Battaglia from 2001 at 2008, performs  as a concert artist in a variety of styles ranging from traditional jazz through contemporary and avant-garde jazz to projects  of  improvised and experimental music.

Justin Chart

Born: February 6, 1970

Universal Music Group artist Justin Chart is a visionary alto saxophonist and a prominent figure in the modern West Coast jazz scene. Jazz Europe rates Justin Chart as one of the top ten modern day hard bop saxophone players in the world. Known in jazz circles as “The Blizzard” for his explosive playing and intricate compositional changes, Chart is a trailblazer who is one of the modern masters of Hard-Bop jazz. His unique style is characterized by a seductive yet familiar vibe, offering a harmonic edge that remains deeply rooted in the jazz lineage while standing out as distinctly modern in color.

Gregg Young

Gregg, originally from San Francisco, was signed to a major label recording contract when in his teens and had an "NFL or NBA" musical experience while touring and recording. Gregg has been in shows that included such acts as Jimi Hendrix, Bob Dylan, Steve Miller, Creedence Clearwater Revival, Linda Ronstadt, Steppenwolf, Iron Butterfly, Eric Burden, War, Jose Feliciano and others. Gregg has had the privilege of having guitar great Carlos Santana as a friend and mentor, and learned a great deal while playing with Bo Diddley and Sly Stone. He was granted former resident status of Alcatraz due to an overnight stay (to make music) during the Indian occupation. In 2018, Young released a solo steel string guitar album, Alcatraz, which was considered in 2 Categories for a Grammy in 2019 for "Best Roots Performance" & "Best Contemporary Instrumental Album"

Daniel Criado Cabrales

Born: March 7, 1992

Daniel Criado is a Bosphorus Artist who has been in the New York musical scene for several year. He holds a Masters in Jazz Studies at SUNY Purchase specializing in Jazz Drumming, where he got the chance to perfect his technique with worldwide jazz stars Kenny Washington and John Riley. He also studied under Leon Parker, Ari Hoenig, Gregory Hutchinson, Ralph Peterson, Carl Allen, Joe Farnsworth and Kenny Grohowsky. He has collaborated with different bands such as the Birdland Big Band, Pete Malinverni trio, David Dejesus & Drive, Alexis Cole Quartet, Miho Sasaki Trio and his own band, Daniel Criado Project, to name a few
