Carolyn Richardson, aka Music Carolyn, is a singer, songwriter, and music supervision executive. Born in Dallas and raised in Houston, Texas, she cut her teeth and got her first big break here in Chicago before going on to settle down in Los Angeles. In addition to her work in the world of music supervision with her company, Music 4 Scenes, Music Carolyn is a highly sought after recording artist and session musician in her own right. She has been featured as a background vocalist on a number of songs on Grammy-nominated Lukas Graham’s latest album 3 (The Purple Album). Anna Jalkéus

Anna Jalkéus is a Boston based singer, harpist, and composer known as a powerful, creative musician who writes genre bending music with fearlessness and originality. She has received many national awards such as the JEN Young Composer Showcase, Swedish Monica Zetterlund and Ted Gärdestad awards, scholarship from STIM (Swedish ASCAP), and was awarded “Outstanding Performance” with her band in DownBeat Student Music Awards 2017. She is a sought-after collaborator and frequently appears as a side(wo)man in experimental, contemporary jazz groups. Born in 1992 in Stockholm, Sweden, Anna grew up traveling worldwide with Swedish a cappella phenomenon The Real Group, seeing as both of her parents were original members

Reem Kelani

Born: August 7

Reem Kelani, the Palestinian singer, musician, musicologist and broadcaster, was born in England, brought up in Kuwait, and she now lives in London. Reem is both bi-lingual and bi-cultural. She does her own research, composes and arranges her music, trains and leads her (mostly non-Arab) musicians in Arabic music, and sings. She is at once respectful of convention and highly innovative.

Reem’s profile in the Arab and non Arab world continues to grow in equal measure, all the more to her credit as an unsigned artist who has preserved her independence, musically, spiritually and politically.

Kalya Ramu

Born: August 14, 1993

Kalya Ramu, Canadian jazz vocalist, composer, educator, and visual artist, has carved out a distinctive presence within Toronto's vibrant jazz community. From the age of 12, Kalya found herself immersed in the world of jazz, frequenting jam sessions and touring with community big bands. Her musical journey led her to study Jazz Performance at the esteemed Humber College in Toronto. A storyteller at heart, Kalya has a remarkable ability to reinvent classic jazz tunes while infusing her original compositions with fresh, evocative narratives.

In 2019, Kalya released her debut full-length album, "Living in a Dream", generously supported by FACTOR. Shortly after this release, the title track was featured on the soundtrack of CBC show "Frankie Drake Mysteries." Her second album, "Duo" (2021), is a close collaboration with pianist and composer Ewen Farncombe. The five-track album of original material highlights their artistic synergy. In the past year Kalya released two singles with Brazilian guitarist André Valério. The first, "Algo Contigo” (2023), features the composition of Argentinian songwriter Chico Novarro, and the second “Hold Me Close” (2024) is an original composition by Ramu and Valério and features the playing of flutist Rob Christian. Currently Kalya has been working on a brand new album called Trio, coming out on November 29 2024.

Anna Kolchina

Born: March 8, 1984

Anna Kolchina was born on March 8, 1984, in Ufa, Republic of Bashkortostan, Russia. From a young age, she was drawn to the arts, exploring theater and dance, while also studying classical piano with Evgeny Bloshchitsky at Music School No. 1, named after Nariman Sabitov.

Her introduction to jazz came through her older brother, a saxophonist, who shared with her a few classic jazz records by Count Basie, Charlie Parker, and John Coltrane. The music fascinated her with its complexity, emotion, and freedom. 

Inspired by her brother, Anna pursued formal jazz studies and enrolled in the Jazz Department of the Ufa College of Arts. There, she studied under vocal teacher Svetlana Slyaguzova, who played a significant role in her musical development, and worked closely with pianist Alina Kruglikova, who introduced her to an extensive collection of jazz records, which became the cornerstone of her early exposure to jazz.

Jerry Velona

Born: September 25, 1954

Jerry Velona is a Boston area singer/songwriter and multi-instrumentalist. He's played and sung in a number of Boston bands and has written songs which have appeared on HBO, MTV and elsewhere. His voice has been featured in commercials and the theme song for the independent film “Lifestyles of the Poor and Unknown”.

Jerry attended Berklee College of Music and has released six albums of original material some of which achieved international airplay and rave reviews. Jerry's original music is expressed in many styles including rock, blues, funk, jazz, and country. His versatile yet distinctive vocals capture the various genres in a way that few others can. His 2012 release Dream Girl hit #26 on the Smooth Jazz charts. It was Jerry's first jazz release and contains five tracks that run the gamut from smooth, contemporary jazz to dixieland to swing. Nicola Emmanuelle

The talents of Nicola Emmanuelle have been obvious for some time to the many artists, producers and musical directors who have been using her crystalline voice for studio albums, film and television work, and now the public can enjoy one of the finest voices yet to be signed to a major record label at some of the foremost Jazz venues across London. Having just finished a stint at the Haymarkey Theatre and then on a UK wide tour for most of 2018 playing Ella Fitzgerald in the Rat Parck Live at Las Vegas to rave reviews, Nicola is back to finishing her new album in the studio, writing new original material with a number of co-writers, and performing live around London with her band the Nicola Emmanuelle Quartet. Nicola has a sensational set of songs evoking the work and sound of the original jazz pioneers of the thirties, forties and fifties, along with stunning and beautiful renditions of some of the all time great jazz standards. Coming from a South African jazz dynasty, (her Father Nathan ‘Dambuza’ Mdledle was the founder and lead singer of the Manhattan Brothers) London born Nicola attended the Cleo Laine school of music followed by the Bourne school of music and Goldsmiths foundation, and enjoyed a Classical training by Elizabeth Anderson Kramer. Despite her enormous versatility and numerous genre changes for various projects, Nicola retains a deep desire to follow in the classic jazz styles she grew up with and has always loved. Her understanding of the feel and swing of the best of the past, and her own contemporary iconic style and individuality adds to and supports a voice of mesmerising purity and beauty. Comfortable in all types of live situations, Nicola makes a speciality of singing accapella and is capable of incredible scat solos when the mood takes her. She can touch an audience with a torch song, before drawing them back to laughter with her endearing and graceful humour. Nicola has a way of sticking you to the spot, and always wanting more; you stay there until forced to leave. Laila Biali

Multi award-winning Canadian singer-songwriter, pianist and CBC Music national radio host Laila Biali has headlined festivals and venues spanning five continents from New York City’s Carnegie Hall to Beijing’s National Centre for the Performing Arts, and supported international icon Sting. In 2020, Laila was honoured by SOCAN Music with the Hagood Hardy Award for Excellence in Songwriting. In 2019, Laila’s eponymous release won her a JUNO (Canada’s GRAMMY) for “Vocal Jazz Album of the Year.” The year prior, she was awarded top prize at the Canadian Songwriting Competition in the Jazz category

Michelle Duda

This Midwestern gal has been performing in and around New York City for over a decade. Lauded for her easy, intimate style and silky vocal quality, Michelle continues to build a loyal following. She began private studies at 12 with acclaimed jazz vocalist and educator, Michele Horsefield Carney. She instilled Michelle's love of the Great American Songbook, and nurtured her instrument over the entire course of her youth. While earning her BA in Journalism at Ohio State, Michelle was mentored by extraordinary educators and musicians, including Hank Marr, Gary Carney, Vaughn Weister and Matt Paetsch

Dmitry Vasiliev

Born: July 23, 1990

Dmitry Vasiliev is an outstanding Russian jazz multi-instrumentalist. His unique ability of improvising with voice and any instrument at the same time, the bright talent of playing, composing and arranging music make him a demanded musician, who works in various genres and roles. He's based in Saint-Petersburg, where he has finished Saint-Petersburg State Conservatory as a bouble bass player. As a teacher, he give the classes of arranging in School of music named after Mussorgsky. Dmitry has his own ensemble called "Empathy Project", also he is a member of "Classicize" by Irina Chehova, "The Acoustic Trio" in collaboration with Alexander Feldman and Igor Lozhevsky and the bal-folk project "Ember" by Dmitry Petrov, and a session singer/bass player in many other projects.
