Zeki Caglar Namli

ZEKI CAGLAR NAMLI Born in Trabzon in the year of 1981. He got acquainted with music by starting to play Bağlama (Three double stringed Turkish instrumet) during his tender ages. His student years started in State Conservatory in the year of 1998. Again, during these years, he formed his unique way of playing with his Bağlama consisting of silver threaded strings. He composed many instrumental compositions with his own developed unique playing technique. In the year of 2002, he invented the first natural stereo instrument of the world and he named this instrument as ‘’Double Boxed Bağlama’’

Cihan Terlan

Born: March 9, 1964

About Cihan Terlan 1964 Istanbul dogumlu. Gitar çalip sarki söylemeye lise yillarinda (1978), kendi kurdugu grupla kendi sarkilarini söyleyerek, müzikten para kazanmaya ise 1983 yilinda, Ankara’da ögrenciyken tek basina basladi. ODTÜ’yü bitirdikten sonra bir süre güneyde tatil köylerinde çalisti. Bir yil kadar yurt disinda kaldi, bar ve sokak müzisyenligi yapti. Türkiye’ye döndükten sonra evlendi, bir oglu oldu. Kristian Lind

Born: April 29, 1980

After finishing his studies at the academy of music in Malmoe, Kristian moved to Stockholm to work as a freelance musician. Now, four years later he has been playing with some amazing musicians, such as: Jeff Ballard, Kurt Elling, Tim Hagans, Manuell Dunkel, John Fedchock, David Doruzka and Fredrika Stahl, Karl-Martin Almquist, Magnus Lindgren, Mathias Algotsson, Rigmor Gustavsson, Miriam Aida, Louise Hoffsten, Fredrik Kronquist, Jonas Kullhammar, Claes Crona, Peter Asplund, Bernt Rosengren, Max Schultz, Andreas Oberg, and the Norrbotten big band. Kristian has played in USA, Venezuela, Dubai, China, Turkey, Japan, South Africa and many european countries. This july Kristian had his debut with the record Winter games, accompanied by Karl-Martin Almquist on saxophone and Peter Danemo on drums

Planet Jazzart

Active since: April 25, 1979

Planet Jazzart aims to share its productions with people through jazz tunes and using art as a universal medium, and to contribute to arts' role of helping people and communities get to know each other better.

Planet Jazzart continues its musical journey, which started as Bossa Nove Project in 2003, to reflect the Planet Music's colors. The band enriches its original sound which stemmed from Bossa Nova with jazz, blues and a variety of world music. The Planet Jazz, projects Suha Otmanboluk's life, compositions and paintings which were created in the past 15 years reflecting his long years of experience with dance music and jazz bands.

Planet Jazzart describes its music as a unique style which includes jazz, Latin and world music tunes with a strong scent of Istanbul.

But for others, like self-described “jazz maniac” Ferit Odman, that journey is one that permeates every ounce of who they are, consuming their every moment with the search for the perfect riff, the tightest beat, and the smoothest flow. Odman’s passion for jazz began in his homeland of Istanbul, where he was influenced heavily early on by the jazz scene there, finding inspiration in the work of artists like Max Roach, Art Blakey, and Philly “Joe” Jones

Selen Gulun

Born: January 26, 1972

Selen Gülün started her education in Music at Istanbul University State Conservatory at 1980. After graduating from Istanbul University Business Department at 1992, she continued her Music education at Mimar Sinan University State Conservatory in Istanbul. There, she studied piano with Hülya Tarcan and composition with Ercivan Saydam and Ilhan Usmanbas. In 1996, she received a scholarship to study jazz composition at Berklee College of Music, where she formed the quintet Just About Jazz that continues to perform her own original compositions on the international circuit. The Quintet’s album Just about Jazz, Live has released by DMC Jazz, Turkey at 2005, and re-released by rec by Saatchi, jazz at 2006

Engin Ozsahin

Born: December 3, 1986

Engin Özşahin is a jazz pianist and composer. He was born in 1986 and lived in Istanbul, Turkey until his late twenties. His first musical influence was his grandmother, who played classical piano by Schubert, Rachmaninoff and Chopin. At age 6, Engin started to learn classical piano himself and became very interested in the melodies and harmonies of aforementioned classical composers.

Although music and performing was Engin’s passion, his cultural and family environment which consisted of engineers and architects suggested that these professions were the way to go in life. As a result, he completed mechanical engineering and business administration degrees in Istanbul and worked as a business developer in corporate environments following that.
