She is a composer and her book, IN PURSUIT OF A MELODY contains 40 songs and lyrics to standard songs: "A Night in Tunisia" by Dizzy Gillespie, "Blue Bossa" by Kenny Dorham, "Tune Up" by Miles Davis and "Bessie's Blues" by John Coltrane. Joan's book also contains two lectures that she's given to over 5,000 children and college students, in U.S., Switzerland, Sicily, China and Japan: WOMEN IN JAZZ and SO, YOU WANT TO BE A SINGER? Her workshops are dynamic and educational, highlighting the pitfalls and benefits of the music business

A native of Chicago, Kam began learning music at an early age under the tutelage of his mother, a classical pianist, and the great concert pianist, Erna Salm. In the midst of his piano studies, he was recruited by his Grade-school orchestra to play cello - an instrument he continued to study throughout his college years. Kam comments, "This was significant because it gave me experience working in all sorts of ensembles playing chamber music and orchestral music and it introduced me to the music of the great composers." RICK MOORE (Birthplace; Plainfield, NJ - 1954) Rick played the organ, clarinet and drums as child. He began playing the piano professionally in his teens. Rick studied classical piano with Keith McDonald and Jazz piano with Sal Mosca in Mount Vernon, NY (1975–85). While living in NJ, Rick worked in Jazz groups with Vinnie Burke, Vic Juris, Judy Niemack, Don Messina, Fred Amend & Joshua Breakstone. In 1986, Rick relocated to WPB, FL and played long-term engagements @ the International Polo Club, Bear Lakes, Jupiter Island Club, Sailfish Club, Mar-a- Lago, Everglades Club, Club Colette, Mariner Sands, Loblolly, Breakers West, Bath & Tennis Club, Turtle Creek and many other venues throughout South Florida
