Diederik Wissels was five years old when he first touched a piano keyboard. In 1982, at the end of a four year curriculum, he completed his studies at the world famous Berklee College of Music, in Boston, obtaining the Professional Music diploma with distinction. Since the early eighties, the Dutch pianist Diederik Wissels is one of the prominent figures of the Brussels jazz scene, place of origin of numerous internationally recognized and admired jazz musicians. In Belgium and elsewhere, critics are impressed by Diederik Wissels’ subtle and highly creative compositions, and by the virtuoso performance he gives at the piano

BRZZVLL was founded by Vincent Brijs in 2006. This Antwerp collective plays improvised dance music with a jazz-fusion, funk and rare groove sound like those of the 70’s: bass and drums very tight and funky, horns, guitar and keyboards very imaginative and sexy. The bands’ unique cross polination of cosmic jazz, spoken word & afrobeat makes them stand out in today’s jazz scene. Their debute “Days of Thunder, Days of Grace” was voted Best Belgian Jazz Album of 2008 by newspaper Le Soir. For their last two critically acclaimed albums, BRZZVLL worked together with spoken word artists Anthony Joseph (“Engines”, 2014) & Amir Sulaiman (“First Let’s Dance”, 2016)

Toni Mora was born in Madrid (Spain) where
he began his musical studies at the young
age of 10 learning classical guitar at the
Reina Sofía Conservatory in Madrid. Few years
later he begins to study Jazz guitar with a
private teacher from his home town.
In 2004 he receives a scolarship to study in
The Netherlands where he completed a 4 years
Bachelor Program in Jazz Guitar Performance
and Teaching at the Conservatory of
Rotterdam (CODARTS).
He had the chance to participate in
Masterclasess with some of the greatest
musicians in the Jazz World like Kurt
Rosenwinkel, John Scofield, Richard Bona,
Mike Stern, Jonathan Kreisberg, Jeff Ballard,
etc

Born in France, Vincent Thekal is an eclectic musician and band leader, in different musical situations. He studied classical music and jazz at Metz Music Conservatory with Hubert Prati and Eric Barret, after both degrees, he continues with Steve Houven in Brussels. Developping a personnal approach on the saxophone, influenced by the great past masters (Dexter Gordon, John Coltrane and Thelonious Monk to name just three of them), Vincent Thekal got one foot in the tradition and one in the present. He played with Bob Mover, David Bryant, Jérôme Sabbagh, Godwin Louis, Emil Spanyi, Dre Pallemaerts, Bo Van Der Werf, Fabian Fiorini, Jean Louis Rassinfosse..

Born in Milan, moves to Brussels to study at the Royal Conservatory, where he meets many musicians from different countries. After his Bachelor degree he moves to Zhuhai (China) for one year as a performer and teacher for Golden Jazz management, having the opportunity to perform with several musicians from the Chinese scene. He performs as a sideman in very different contexts from traditional to more modern and experimental jazz, but also Flamenco and “Chanson Française” in events like Brugge Jazz Festival, Beishan Jazz Festival, Marni Jazz Festival, etc. Between his most recent collaborations the new project from Stéphane Galland “(The mystery of) Kem” his own project “The AwkWords (with Hendrik Lasure on piano and Paul Berne on drums), both due to album release at the beginning of 2018. In August 2017 his band “The AwkWords” was awarded with the First Prize in the Mechelen JazzContest for the best upcoming jazz group.
