Francois Grillot

François Grillot was born in Burgundy France. His musical journey began in a marching band where he learned to play the trumpet. Soon after he began playing the guitar and electric bass in ballrooms. Grillot moved to New York and decided to study at City College. While studying with Harvie "S", he learned to play the doublebass. His growth as a musician continued when he recorded two albums with Ed Russell, Dark Sun Records, "Visions of Order", and "Laws of Circonstance.

Sebastian Liedke (born 29th november 1976) is a german musician driven by passion for jazz. initially autodidactically, sebastian began to experiment with electric-bass at the age of 15 and formed a death metal band together with his older brother (guitar). first studies of the electric-bass with jan peters in hildesheim and nelson arriagada in hanover helped him on his journey to jazz, and were followed by double-bass studies with prof. sigi busch, prof. pepe berns and marc muellbauer, as well as studies on composition and electric-bass with max hughes, all of them in berlin. 2004-2005 studied at a private jazz-school in berlin (jazzschule-berlin), improvisation classes with claus rückbeil, ensemble classes with wolfgang obert, rhythm studies with michael griener and double-bass studies with stefan weeke

Or Bareket

Born in Jerusalem and raised in Buenos-Aires and Tel-Aviv, Or Bareket is currently one of the most in-demand bassists on the NYC jazz scene.

Winner of the 1st prize at the International Society of Bassists' jazz competition in 2011, Or’s diverse heritage informs his distinct style. His approach to improvisation and composition is informed by Mediterranean, South American, and North African folklores.

Since moving to New York, Or has worked locally and internationally with the likes of Ari Hoenig, Jean-Michel Pilc, Aaron Goldberg, Sam Yahel, Jacques Schwartz-Bart, Leon Parker,Chris Potter, Yotam Silberstein, Eli Degibri, Cyrille Aimee, Banda Magda, Petros Klampanis and many more.

Ben Bastin

Born: November 28, 1985

At Just 25 Ben Bastin is fast making waves on the british jazz scene both as a sideman to many of Europes best musicians but also with his own bands and his compoisitons. Having played all over Europe with artists such as Sarah Gillespie, Gilad Atzmon and Stan Sulzman, Ben is about to embark on the journey of his own album. The Ben Bastin Trio features not only Ben's tour de force bass playing but also his composition and arrangement. The album will be released in April 2011 on Patiche Records. The main band includes John Turville on Piano and Josh Blackmore on Drums, the album also features Amelia Tucker with the Sustain Choir and Raven Bush and Danny Keane from Mulatu Astawe and the Heliocentrics. 2011 promises to be a busy year for this young musician. Touring with Sarah Gillespie promoting her "In the Current Climate" CD touring his own album and also with the acoustic trio ASK.

Mike Davis has lived several distinct musical lives. He has been a student, a serious student of performance and of theory and of composition and of art. He has been a gig warrior, playing multiple shows in multiple styles on different instruments at different venues with different bands on the same day numerous days per week, week after week after week. Frank Marino

Frank Marino is an accomplished, versatile Bassist who plays both Acoustic Upright and Electric bass. He primarily plays Jazz, but is proficient in all styles of music. He is a Bass instructor as well. Frank is from NYC where in addition to many years as a performer, was a Faculty member at the Westchester Conservatory of Music for 10 years. He is the founder of the Brazilian group, "Som Brasileiro" and together with his wife, Jazz recording artist Diane Marino, has appeared in many Jazz Festivals and venues. He also appears on Diane's recordings on M&M Records...all which have charted on the National Jazz charts in the US

Joe Policastro

Chicago bassist JOE POLICASTRO grew up in the fertile jazz, classical, and popular music scene of Cincinnati, OH. He studied Classical Double Bass Performance on full scholarship at Miami University. Joe earned his Bachelor of Music in Jazz/Studio Music from the College Conservatory of Music at the University of Cincinnati and his Master of Music in Jazz Studies from DePaul University in Chicago. After performing and recording in Germany, he relocated to Chicago where he quickly established himself an in-demand bassist and arranger/composer. Bassist, Ameen Saleem, was born July 2, 1979, and raised in Washington, DC. He now resides in Brooklyn, New York. Ameen says about his involvement in the Arts... "I'm a chill, laid back person until I get a bass in my hand... then it's on. Love, love, love music and anything art related. People often ask what kind of music do I play. I respond, "I play bass."
