Jon Dreyer is a Boston-area bassist. He performs regularly with jazz pianist Harvey Diamond, one of Lennie Tristano's last protégés, and with pianist/saxophonist/bandleader/composer James Merenda, both as a member of his band TickleJuice and also in more mainstream jazz settings.

He has also performed with Adam Janjigian, Doug Johnson, Yoko Miwa, Hankus Netsky, Alan Rowe, Mark Shilansky, Alexei Tsiganov, Frank Wilkins, George Garzone, Grace Kelly, Roy Nathanson, Sheila Jordan, Dominique Eade, Jason Palmer, Phil Grenadier, Mike Connors, Dave Fox, Scott Goulding, Bob Gullotti, Joe Hunt, Steve Langone, Miki Matsuki, Austin McMahon, and most of the rest of the Boston jazz community.

Jeong Lim Yang has been embarking her lyrical and melodic bassism in east coast America since 2007. Born and grew up in South Korea, Yang moved to NYC in 2011 upon graduating from Berklee college of music. Since Yang has been performing as a sideman with many great artists such as Tim Berne, Russ Lossing, Jacob Sacks, Oscar Noriega, Mary Halvorson, Adam Kolker, Micahel Attias, Jason Palmer, Billy Mintz and many more. Her debut album as a leader “déjà vu” (released july 2017 fresh sound new talent) has been highly received among critics and fans.

Carmen Quill

Carmen Quill (formerly Carmen Q. Rothwell) is a double bassist, composer, singer and interdisciplinary artist based in Brooklyn, NY. She is recognized for her sound and versatility on the double bass, her captivating performances as a solo artist, and her intuitive sensitivity as an improviser. Her debut solo recording, Don’t Get Comfy / Nowhere (2021), “thrives on the meeting of reservation and vulnerability, and its songs feel as emotional and virtuosic as a power ballad yet are sparse and withholding as a Rembrandt” (Pitchfork). In addition to producing and performing her solo music she performs and releases music as part of the bands tilt, Scree, and a host of other projects and collaborations. Carmen is a 2025 Next Jazz Legacy Awardee (New Music USA).

Esat Ekincioğlu

Esat Ekincioglu (Istanbul, 1990) is a Turkish/Dutch bass player, improviser, composer and manager based in Groningen, the Netherlands. A versatile and in-demand bass player, Esat spends much of the year on the road, playing throughout Europe, the Near East and China. Tens of tours and nearly 1000 shows in 31 countries include Jazzhead, Jazzfest Saalfelden, Shanghai World Music Fest, Jazz in Duketown, JazzJantar, Nisville Jazzfest and many more. 

Apart from his successful bands KUHN FU and AVA Trio, his newly premiered band Esat Ekincioglu’s Turkish Pumpkin, Esat likes to play solo and in duos where he explores unknown areas of double bass playing, improvisation and microtonal music.

Bassist Bhagwan Khalsa, one of the most sought-after acoustic bassists in the DC area, is currently a member of the Eric Byrd Trio. His original arrangements are essential to shaping the sound of the trio, and he has recorded on all of the trio’s albums. With the Eric Byrd Trio, Khalsa has traveled extensively around the globe, performing and teaching music, and in 2001, the trio had the opportunity to travel under the auspices of the US State Department as Jazz Ambassadors. Since 2001, they’ve returned to Peru twice and Bolivia five times; they have performed at the Montreaux Jazz Festival and have toured in Estonia and the United Arab Emirates
