Born in Lębork (Gdansk), Poland; has lived since 1984 in Hamburg, Germany. • Studied double bass under Professor Stanisław Rosiek at the Frédéric Chopin Conservatory in Gdansk, Poland. • For four years was a member of the National Opera and Philharmonic Orchestras in Gdansk. Changes his musical path and becomes a jazz musician. • 1975 – Appears with the Don Cherry Band at the Jazz Jantar Festival, Gdansk. • 1980 – Wins the annual Krzysztof-Komeda Prize, Warsaw. • 1980 – Wins first prize at Jazz nad Odrą Festival, Wrocław. • 1980 – Appears at the Jazz Jamboree Festival, Warsaw. • 1982/83 – Co-founds the Instrumental Theater of Gdynia (Teatr Instrumentalny Gdynia); completes European tour. • 1984 – Settles in Hamburg, Germany

Bassist Yiorgos(also known as George) Kostopoulos is a cross-cultural musician with a Masters Degree in Jazz Performance from Aaron Copland School of Music whose proficiency in many different musical styles has led him to numerous collaborations with exceptional musicians from all over the world. Born and raised in Athens, Greece, Georgios studied in depth the full spectrum of classical, jazz,pop and Greek folk music while at the same time he explored a variety of musical styles from all over the world, enriching his music vocabulary and broadening his artistic perception. He attended the specified in Music, experimental high school of Pallini, Athens where he had the chance to study in depth classical music and byzantine/folk music. After graduating from High School he studied Double Bass in Phillipos Nakas Conservatory in Athens, where he received his degree in Jazz Performance in 2011. Yiorgos has also studied Architecture at the National Technical University of Athens. In 2009 he travels to Sofia ,Bulgaria to participate in the Jazz improvisation workshop under the direction of jazz pianist/composer Milcho Leviev . He received twice a scholarship from Berklee College of Music in Boston,MA in 2009 and 2010. In 2010 he received a performance scholarship from the Phillipos Nakas Conservatory in Athens. In 2011 after graduating from Phillipos Nakas Conservatory he continues his studies in New York City, after being accepted at the Queens College Masters Programs where he studied Jazz Performance with private teachers Lonnie Plaxico and Joe Martin, in New York. He has shared the stage with a wide range of performers, in the US and Europe

David Grossman

Double bassist and composer David J. Grossman enjoys a multi-faceted career in the realms of classical and jazz music, performing in concert halls, chamber music settings, and jazz venues worldwide. Born and educated in New York City, he joined the New York Philharmonic as its youngest member in Spring 2000. Mr. Grossman has been an ardent student of Orin O'Brien, with whom he now enjoys the pleasure of playing in the Philharmonic bass section. He is also a member of the double bass faculty of Manhattan School of Music. As a soloist and clinician, Mr. Grossman has given recitals and master classes at many prestigious music schools across the country including The Boston Conservatory, Yale School of Music, the Hartt School of Music, Penn State University, and the New York Summer Music Festival as well as faculty recitals at the Manhattan School of Music, among others

Mark Tokar

Born:

Mark Tokar originally studied classical guitar at S. Lyudkevych Music College. During this time he began to play double bass, which became his main instrument.During 2002-2004 he repeatedly participated in the Krakow Jazz Workshop, directed by M. Parkinson (USA).In 2006, via the “Gaude Polonia” scholarship program, Mark studied at K. Szymanowski Jazz Academy under the direction of Professor Jacek Niedzela. The program was granted by the Minister of Culture in Poland.Since 2006 he has given private lessons at various jazz schools.During 2005-2006 Mark worked as art director of the Ukrainian-Polish Jazz Bez festival
